What was obvious,
what was hidden?
Who was innocent,
who was evil?
You can’t blame the trees,
or a voice in the breeze.
It all goes back to Laura.

All the men,
all those nights!
she knew what she did,
was not justified.
She never accused anyone,
she couldn’t blame the trees,
or that voice in the breeze.
it all goes back to Laura.

On that last day,
she seemed to pray,
but all her angels went away.
On that last night,
she ran in fright,
she knew what was comming,
and nothing would ever be allright.

It all goes back to Laura.
