Just a suggestion... |

...that I have been thinking about for a while.
Not a priority of course, just an idea. :-)
I don't know how you guys would feel about this, and if it would generate enough interest, but, I have been thinking, what about making a new part of the board for things like Twin Peaks theories, etc? Sort of like you did a few years ago with Project Red Room, but a way that everyone could be a part of it and those of us members who didn't get to be a part of it, or the more theoretical among us who like to write theories about our own opinions of what different things in Twin Peaks mean could do so?
I know you might just turn around and say "well DUH!! That's what Twim Peaks and FWWM forum is for!", but I don't mean it in that way, trying to think of how to phrase it. Just one place where we could all maybe take turns to write something that is a mystery to us. Not fanfic exactly, but like a Gazette project. But again, one that involves everybody.
Those who want to could all take turns to write a theory each week about our favourite mystery related to Twin Peaks, eg dopplegangers one week, Owl Cave the Next, the black lodge the next, etc etc.
Like our own Gazette theory book.
If people are up for it.
Oh dear.
Sorry I'm not making much sense.
Again this is not a priority, I know you guys have enough to sort out at the moment, take as much times as you like to get back to me.
Thanks for hearing out my idea anyway.

Maddy, Nice suggestion, and if there is interest, we can do that. For anyone who would want to be involved in this, please reply here or PM me and if there's enough interest, we can put something together.

This is a late suggestion, but I think it would also be interesting to discuss along with the theoretical ideas also the cinematic aspects of Twin Peaks and FWWM.

Hello there Maddy. I am not sure what's happened with the Project you suggested, but I'm keen to be involved. A few thoughts occurred to me on how it would be best organised. These are only suggestions, so like 'em of lump 'em. I agree that the Project should be limited to members only. However, it is facile becoming a member of the TPG forum and not everyone who signs up to TPG ought to be involved in the Project. Of course, you might say that's nice coming from someone who just signed up himself! But, like I said ... Notwithstanding this, I think membership to TWG should remain easy to get. After all this is a community forum. Anyone who claims to have enjoyed Twin Peaks should be welcomed and encouraged to use the tools and information on this website to grow their interest. All I am suggesting is that membership to the Project should be differentiated from membership to the website. Moreover, in my opinion, it should be differentiated in a way that ensures that 'Project Members', let me call them, are only people who are reasonably serious about or genuinely interested in the project.
Now, may be you were thinking of something more open-ended and casual. I am merely putting a case forward that the Project Maddy has suggested would be more rewarding if prospective contributors to it were initially tested for the genuineness of their interest and their desire that the project work and amount to something. Thus membership might depend on members assessment of an applicant's submission to the project. If the submission is deemed by existing 'Project Members' to have value in itself or be revealing of the potential of the applicant to make a worthwhile contribution to the project, then the applicant may be offered membership to the Project. Perhaps you're thinking, 'but what's the point of going to all that effort?' The reason I make these suggestions is that I considered that all our cogitation and theorising might be made to amout to something. I'm won't make any further suggestions for now. I'll just leave this one to you the jury. If there at least a few people interested let's talk it over further. Regards. The man with the blue guitar - Ristretto.
Beauty is momentary in the mind - The fitful tracing of a portal; But in the flesh it is immortal. The body dies; the body's beauty lives. So evenings die, in their green going, A wave, interminably flowing. So gardens die, their meek breath scenting the cowl of winter, done repenting. So maidens die, to the auroral Celebration of a maiden's choral. Susanna's music touched the bawdy strings Of those white elders; but, escaping, Left only Death's ironic scraping. Now in its immortality, it plays On the clear viol of her memory, And makes a constant sacrement of praise. ('Peter Quince at the Clavier' by Wallace Stevens)

Having become better acquainted with the website, I can see that 'Project Red Room' is designed to meets the objects I suggested above. My suggestion is accordingly withdrawn. All I can say is that it would be good to see more happening in the 'Red Room'. It's a great initiative.
