Bob's "love" to Laura |

I think Bob "loves" Laura, even it is in very strange way, typical for him!Yes,he's an evil who killed her,he's totally insane, but have you asked yourselves why he chose Laura, why does he want her,why does he want to posses her so much, and had been terrorising her for 6 years? And he killed Maddy only because she reminded him of Laura. The same thing was with Teresa Banks,Leland told her too, that she reminded him of his Laura. And after the Maddy's murder, when Dona came to Palmer's house to speak with Leland,he recognised the glasses of Laura, and even this reminded him somehow of her, again, and we could see Bob screaming, and while Leland was dancing with Dona,he grabbed her! In FWWM Laura told Dona: "Don't wear my stuff....I don't want you to be like me",maybe Laura knew that every girl could be in danger if she looked like her!Why Bob is so obssesed by the idea of possessing Laura? What is this big mania about her?I think this is some kind of "love" he's feeling to her, fatal love...he loves her in his own way!And one more thing-in the scene of Laura's murder, which we see in Ronette's dream,Bob was crying! His screams were of terror, but also of sorrow. And most of that screams ended in screams of crying! Why Bob did that to Laura?I think this is the whole meaning of "Twin Peaks"?What about you?Have you picked up on that?
Beware of BOB

When I call out no one can hear me,when I whisper he thinks the message is for him only..my little voice inside my throat,I always think there must be something that I've done or something I can do...But no one no one comes to help,he says,a little girl like you...

I think it's Leland that causes that "love" you mentioned. It's Leland who loves. It's Leland who's causing the sorrow in BOB's face. Laura happened to be Leland's daughter and she was able to fall to the wrong path really easily and fast. She was a daughter of a man who may have been sexually abused in his childhood. She was a daughter of a man who was easy for BOB to walk with. She was a daughter of a man who used prostitutes, obviously had a sexual addiction and was potential abuser due to his possibly tragic childhood. She was "easy" prey for BOB (although Laura basically did beat him in the end). That "don't ever wear my clothes" doesn't really mean someone looking like Laura. It means that no-one should act like Laura. BOB loved the lust and the appetite for (self-) destruction in Laura. In Donna's case he may have thought that she could be as lustful as Laura was. The sunglasses made him to think about that possibility. Also, you can see that electric blue light appearing in the club scene in FWWM just when Laura recognizes Donna doing "wild" things and acting like Laura. In the script there was BOB's voice added to the scene. BOB was noticing that Donna could be taking the same path Laura took. Those sunglasses made him think about that. And actually those glasses pretty much made Donna feel like she was somewhat like Laura. Leland got interested (maybe sexually) and BOB sensed the sparking inner fire in Donna.

Yeah...you are right,I agree...may be this was really Leland's love, but why Bob wanted to posses Laura so much?I also read in FWWM scripts ,where Bob says to Laura"I want you to kill for me" So does this mean he just want to inhabit her, like he did with Leland and Coop's doppelganger?

I think that BOB thinks he could be extremely powerful with Laura. If he could work in Laura's mind enough she could beextremely effective in collecting garmonbozia for BOB. She could be this really lustful girl without remorse. She would tie people on her will by her sex appeal and she'd be able to make people really scared but enough hooked on sex and drugs that they could have no way out of it. The perfect tool for collecting garmonbozia. By the way, great avatar you've got there! Freaky!

I disagree, Bob is the extreme symbol of evil. He has no love. He chooses Laura because she is very inclined to evil, nevertheless she struggles against it. If you can notice, Laura was probably the most corrupt person of her age in the whole town. She has lots of fear but at the same time balances it out with lots of strength, resulting in the taking of the ring and all that. Her inclination is of course symbolised by fire, and this point also becomes quite clear when she goes to engage in prostitution and the log lady tells her the thing that "when a fire like this starts it is very hard to put out" i don't even remember how exactly that went. But it is later shown that she overcame the difficulty of putting it out.

Yes,you are right, but what I meant was that Bob's love is different from ours for example. He's insane, and his love is insane too,may be this way he understands this feeling! But like Rami said,it was Leland's love inside Bob,after the murder.

"There is no true love, just a finely tuned jealousy" I see BOB as being more jealous and possesive (no pun intended) than "in love" with Laura. He doesn't love who she is, he just wants to own her, to be her.
