In the episode where Audrey has been accepted into One Eyed Jacks and is getting ready for her first 'man', have you ever noticed the tailor woman that is helping her with the dress?  She is like an odd, hunched back woman with a weird voice who then dissapears into this miniature door.

Sorry this is quite insignificant, but really, it is those quirky details that always impress me...... I was wondering if it caught anyone's attention, it happens for a split second, but I coudn't forget it.....

every time i see that scene it cracks me up. i can't help but think of Marty Feldman in Young Frankenstein. it is one of those odd little things that just seems to pass by on the screen. all part of what makes TP so special to me.

Wasn't there a rumor that this was DL is disguise? Or was that just the "curious old woman" at Teresa's trailer? (Totally silly rumor, btw)

at the time, there was speculation it was the Little Man from Another Place.

I just like it because there's such a dark fairy tale theme running with Audrey- and her trapped in her white outfit, in the woods amongst the red drapes with a playing card attached to her and a hunchback.  It's very brothers grim meets Snow White meets Alice in Wonderland.

I bet that woman was played by a crew member, like the vacuum cleaner girl with Battis...

Yes, I remember reading that in the Gazette years ago... It would be nice if true...

While I don't know if the Hunchback Seamstress is Madchen Amick in disguise, she is wearing a single playing card tucked discreetly into her rope waistband which appears to be a Joker. You can see it just as she finishes sewing the card to Audrey's costume, and before she scuttles away behind Audrey.

It reminds me a little of Mel Smith in The Princess Bride.

This is my first post.  Spent the last week with my first run through the series (wanted to go back to various episodes to check things before finishing).  Anyway, I say it was WE, who, a few episodes later, was said to have escaped from the mental institution.  When WE designated his queens, an image of Audrey's face was on the queen of diamonds.  When he said the winner of Miss Twin Peaks would receive a "royal execution," he pulled a joker from behind his head.  The little lady displayed parallel images.  This may have simply been a part of Lynch's style, but I believe the connection was more significant to the plot.

Nice theory, Earle did have a penchant for disguise...

nice fun theory.  I don't think Windom was even thought of until months later though during pre production of the second season -and this would have been filmed towards the end of 1989.

and to be really geeky -Windom would have had to escape many days earlier and gained employment at OEJ.  I think in the story, Windom escaped the following day (friday) and Albert informs Cooper Saturday morning.

way to kill the fun, huh?  sorry.

Why do you want to take hunchback Windom Earle away from me?

When we first see the morgue technician when Laura's body is brought in (I think this was the Pilot- I watched the whole first season yesterday when I was home sick), he is standing such that his right arm is completely hidden.  Shortly thereafter, we see Mike/Gerard poking around the hospital.   Probably coincidence, since it wasn't even the correct arm.

What was Gerard doing there anyway? Waiting for Leland to show up?

edit- forgot his friend the veterinarian was there, but still he seemed to be wandering around and acting suspicious.
