I am re-reading The Shining (can't beat being terrified and traumatised on a hot day!) and have just come upon the following passage of Wendy describing Jack after he had a near-miss in the car and gave up drinking: "He was like a man who had leaned around a corner and had seen an unexpected monster lying in wait, crouching amongst the dried bones of it's own kills" This just really reminded me of Dan and Herb seeing the bum / monster behind Winkies in MD I had not seen MD last time I read this book. I wonder if Lynch was a Stephen King fan and used any of Kings stories or imagery as inspiration, or just co-incidence? Anyone know if these 2 were fans of each other?
The Norwegians are leaving!
