Nicely done yet again!

I like Fire and also Man in Room with Knife. What was the artist's statement for this, if any? Are they all aspects of himself? The sinister BOB figure appears in a lot of his paintings (Bob Loves Sally til She's Blue in the Face, for example) as if this is his suppressed id, living in the dark rooms of his head. Fire looks like the Owl Cave flame. Is the fire in fire walk with me the evil that men do?

The Man in Room with Knife is kind of terrifying. It reminds me of the gaping-eyed clone figures in Pink Floyd The Wall, who have no will and live in a tormented state.

Well, as usually, David hasn't commented his creations and hasn't mentioned his inspirations. The "I see myself" title is quite vague as well, as usual  :) The good side of that is that it allows us to make our own interpretations. Some of the other lithos I'm going to upload are more "frightening" or at least disturbing than these ones, in my point of view. "Coming soon"  :)

Well, it's smiling on my photo, indeed, but I don't know if it was really intended or not. This photo has been taken before the opening hour of the Gallery.

I've continued to update my photo gallery since my last message here. And I've just seen that some of DL lithographies are on sale on this website :

 http://www.itemeditions.com/catalogue/lynch/index.html

Strangely, DL created a litho named "I see myself" (it can be seen on that site), but I don't think it was present during the September exhibition.
