Some discussion has arisen as to whether the real Sherilyn or an obsessed fan was penning the blog. Good read either way.

There wasn't "some discussion"- it was just my first reaction, which I withdrew in about 5 seconds. It is the real thing. Pretty awesome.

Xegg- you asked why someone would do it? I have several fast responses:

a) Malicious intent (ie. identity theft) as the worst case scenario. A friend of mine who was a Playmate in the 80's has this happen to her. They friended her friends, who believed it was really her and confided in this person. How scary but easy if this had been a stalker looking for, oh, her address or phone number? It is the kind of thing real-life stalkers have done, as in the publicized case of another celeb friend of mine.

b) Homage. You will find multiple MySpace and Facebook profiles for any given celebrity, presumably to brings fans together, and how many of these profiles come forward and say "This is a Fan Page?" Worse, how many of them DO have such a disclaimer, yet stupid fans post comments like "I am your biggest fan, I loved you in...., you changed my life, etc.!" Either way, they are getting some of the perks of fame without having done anything but punch a few buttons.

c) There are people who pose as their favorite celebrity on the Internet because it's just a tiny stop beyond fan fic. They are just playing, having a fantasy. May be disturbing if said celeb is still living, and they come across it, but completely harmless if they are dead.

d) They are having a fantasy but are downright delusional--- more frequently, the case is that someone, usually a woman, has a deep set delusion she is in a relationship with a celebrity, and will tell anyone who will listen about it, though I am sure there are mentally ill people posing as Jesus Christ, Hitler, Elvis etc etc

Watch the film Color Me Kubrick, about Kubrick impersonator Alan Conway (who looked nothing like Stanley Kubrick.) He did it for the unquestioning adoration from strangers, free drinks and dinner, and because he was not all right in the head.

12Rainbow - Are you saying that's not the real Sherilyn? :S *confused* I can see why someone would try to be her, but at the same time, she is real, why would she not want to write her own blog?  She may want to let us fans just have a little bit insight into her world, a lot of celebs do things like that, I think that's very gracious of them to do so -they don't really have time to do loads but it's nice to her a little about it when they can/do.  I read a couple of entries actually I enjoyed it. :)

And Xev - I understand why a person would do that - I have a blog.  It's not for being a "drama whore" as some ppl might think, it's just so if people choose, they can have a little insight into me and what I like, who I am, learn about me, etc and maybe enjoy learning about their friend/acquanitance, which I think is why most people make blogs.  You should try it, it's fun! :)

No, g#$%dammit, for the 3rd time! LOL (sorry, Maddy. I know you just got here.)

I will repeat, I was skeptical for about 2 seconds.

My last post was directed as the person who didn't understand why someone might potentially fake a celebrity blog or networking profile.

Jeepers!

I will say it again: the blog and FB profile are real.
