Somebody went to the trouble of joining the Dugpa board just to let people know there's a signed Frank Silva card on eBay in case they want to bid - and he/she wasn't even the seller! It fair warms my heart when folks go out of their way to help others, all selfless like... (deep contented sigh). I listened to the 30-second clips of Louise McVey... on iTunes but wasn't tempted to buy their EP.

Well, it wouldn't have taken that much effort to make a few posts about how rad Twin Peaks is to watch when on acid, and what a shit actor James Marshall is etc.

Still, I gave you the benefit of the doubt, and am listening to the band on Spotify. Don't see how it's related to Lynch at all, but it's got a decent sound.

Self-contented is redundant if you're referring to yourself.

Anyway. Linked how to DL? A Google search came up with nothin'...

Deep self contented? Dorothy Parker you are not.

well spotted sherlock.

probably makes more sense if you read the whole sentence - context, and all that...

I doubt context would have made your 'quip' any funnier.

more of an observation than a "quip".

as someone with an interest in david lynch's movies i felt that this topic would have been of interest to others with a similar interest. obviously i didn't follow messageboard etiquette to the satisfaction of some of it's users. not a mistake i will be making again.

if you want the last word, it's your's

Uhhh, you made one post -- your first -- plugging a random band, and three more when people stated your claim to have no ulterior motive was suspicious, and then you bail?

This is a mellow board where we generally like to give people the benefit of the doubt -- see "Anal Itching" -- but you're not giving us a hell of a lot to work with here.

I don't need your charity! If I wanted the last word I'd have it or die in the attempt. Considering your only contribution to the board thus far has been 1 x product placement and 3 x inane 'observations' being gifted the 'last word' hasn't exactly fulfilled some long cherished dream.

JVSCan't is right about people on the board being fluffy, tolerant darlings and if you went to the trouble of joining you must know that already... I realise it must be difficult reaching out to other Lynch fans when your posts read like a press release but I can't read lines like 'as someone with an interest in David Lynch's movies' without groaning inwardly. I'm sorry, it's not you, it's me. The sheer volume of 'conversational selling' on the internet has made me cynical. I see greed and low-rent PR everywhere I look.

the only way we are going to solve this dilemma is if
1.we all drop some acid at the same time
2. as there are very few of us who live close together, we should (in synchronicity) separately start a 33.5 hour(probably a little less) marathon of the show and FWWM, only breaking for more acid and to blog how cool and awsome it is thereby reminding ourselves of why we love the show and why we belong to the gazette so as we can discuss and share and maybe learn things TP, and hopefully more than that
3.afterwards, days later, when we regain sanity, we all read what we wrote here
4.then realize how idiotic we sound for the most part
5.we all stop doing it
