I haven't noticed a thread on this board about 'rabbits' (well maybe there are some notes about it on IE discussions, but 'rabbits' was an independent movie before IE)

So did anybody watch these 'series' (there are 8 episodes)? What do you think about it? What is it all about? I'm actually embarrassed to say, but I think it's about rabbit hunting. A man with green coat went on hunting rabbits with his dog. Jack the rabbit somehow managed to kill the dog and now the rabbits are all paranoid and haunted by the dog's spirit. I know rabbits in these episodes probably aren't rabbits, but still I like how crazy my version is.

It's funny because I didn't understand all of rabbits' phrases and video seemed to go quicker than sound did (I'm not sure whether it's because of my video file or it's one another Lynch's joke). Well, maybe it is better not to understand everything and keep a lot of space for an interpretation (even if it is DL's movie :D)

I have the same download, and it's not meant to be like that at all. It ruins the last episode for sure (which scared the crap out of me and my friend to the point where he fell back off his chair). I managed to catch it when the davidlynch.com site actually had content worth watching on it.

For the record, it's one of my favourite things Lynch has ever done. I don't think it went down too well with many others. It's very rare that i see it mentioned on lynch fan sites and forums.

I don't remember what exactly happened on the last episode, but I do remember that I haven't been terrified at all. Quite contrary, actually. "Rabbits" is such a slow movie it almost puts you on hypnosis :) I enjoyed very much how it puts you half asleep and so it lets your mind flow more free. I remember that my understanding of what was going on on these episodes has changed for several times and it was great to feel my mind shifting and morphing.

Oh, and I would love to hear your explanation about "rabbits" :)

One of the very last scenes is a knock on the door. When Jack gets up and answers it, there is a sudden flash of light and a real loud piercing scream. Not that it's a very scary thing, but it was the first time we saw it and we had it turned up real loud!

I transcribed the dialog in Rabbits and it really reminded me of what it sounds like to be in a room full of people tripping on LSD when you are straight sober. There are a bunch of threads of thought happening, but people are talking to themselves and eachother at the same time and none of them think this is strange at all, and themes are topics keep repeating with a strange disjointed deja vu effect.

Shit, that sounds like my idea of hell! Haha.

Incidentally, do you still have the transcription? That would be a pretty cool thing to read.

I wanted to write down everything from that movie and then maybe try to put lines in order :> I would like to see the transcription (post it as a reply here if possible). But I guess it would still be just my interpretation. That's what I like about this movie - I can understand it however I want. And not just partly.

To this day I've not been able to watch Episode 8 of Rabbits again. Terrified me in ways I can't even begin to tell you!
