Ok, it's done.  Go read it - and go easy on me!

http://www.online-inquirer.com/cinema/lynch/david-lynch/

I had to cram 35 years of activity into one introductory 1,000 word essay aimed at an uninitiated audience.  I shall follow it up soon with detailed film by film reviews.

Cheers

I have updated my blog with an article about Peter Greenaway - the British film maker who shares a similar background and surrealist output with David Lynch.

Enjoy!

I have tried to like Greenaway, but every single thing of his that I've seen has bored me to tears.
Except The Falls (so much longer than 92 minutes), which is a bit ironic.

I could understand, perhaps, finding his films "emotionally unengaging" but I would never call them "boring".  The Nyman music and the photography provide an interest where the plotting fails.  I would recommend revisiting "A Zed & Two Noughts", it looks stunning on Bluray.
