Thought I'd post a few comments about this Blu-Ray release...just watched mine for the first time. (had to import from France.)

First impressions are that visually this looks like a very good transfer and quite a step up from the Mk2 DVD...content wise, the disc is the same as the Mk2 DVD release and has the same, as expected few extras. (not that I'm particularly bothered about any extras).  The image is very crisp, colour is represented well & detail is superb in the daylight scenes. It does have some grain texture during the darker scenes, of which there are quite a few and I'm sure that this is artistically deliberate, they look great.  I thought the 'noir-like' lighting & contrast came across extremely well and I would say that this is one of the films finest aspects.  The film (imo) being mainly set in 'hazy memory' and 'fugue-state'...obviously lends itself to some interesting visual aspects...IOW's don't expect typical clean & grain-free sharpness etc.

The audio (5.1 DTS-HD Master) is both very impressive and immersive, a big step up from the DVD...dialogue is clear & the fantastic soundtrack pumps out very nicely and as I'm sure you know, there are some great tracks on this.  I found the 'ambient' sound design to be represented extremely well and it is really quite something, particularly in the 1st 1/3 of this film...inside the 'Madison' house.(reminded me of Eraserhead) Top marks all round for the sound.

All in all, I'm very pleased and I would recommend this without hesitation.  Having not had the pleasure of seeing this in a theatre...this Blu has got to be the next best way to view this stunning work.

I've also got the MK2 'FWWM' Blu (not watched yet) and perhaps I will make some comments about that...over on the series/fwwm board.
