I liked The Sixth Sense, Signs and the Village, but I think Lady In The Water is the worse movie I have seen this year. But I have not seen Git R Done. I heard it was pretty bad.

When the Sixth Sense came out, the advertisements were ubiquitous. As I listened over and over to that infernal "I see dead people," I thought to myself, I think I've figured out what this is all about. Some friends had seen the film and were raving about it one night. I said I'm wasn't too keen to see it because I think I figured it out from the ads. Shortly thereafter, we did go to see it and through it all I watched it with my conclusions in mind. With each scene I kept saying, oh yeah, this fits. This fits. So when we got to the big twist ending, it was so ho hum. From that point on I don't watch trailers or ads ever -- not even "Next on The Sopranos..." Surprises are nice and they're also rare. I don't want hints. Oh, but Lady in the Water... Love-love-loved M Night Shyamalan's American Express commercial! Now that shows promise! I feel a little sorry for the boy now though since this latest film is shaping up to be an Ishtar. (Though I actually LIKED Ishtar.)

This is my token post for this thread, because it's no mystery I think Shyalaman is not a very good filmmaker...his vision is fine, but he can't write his way out of a paper bag...that is all for now...

I agree, Smokey, and sometimes wish directors like this would stick to cinematography or production design and let the writers write. Susan

While I have not seen all his films, I would just like to state for the record that "The Village" is one of the most ridicules movies I have ever seen. I almost stood up and walked out when the line about "the shed that is not to be used" came up.
