Hi,

I usually consider myself an Athiest but I can also say I believe in god, Jesus and any other random religious stuff you can throw at me. I believe that the universe began with the big bang, that the universe is based mainly on probability and we live in a four dimensional place (including time) by pure freak accident.

I have, although not for long, realised the true (or what makes amazingly perfect sense in my head) meaning behind religion. What I don't believe is that there's this dude in the sky with a big white beard in a place made of clouds. I do not believe that Moses went and seperated the sea. I don't believe that the stories from religion actually occured or are occuring, but I do believe that they are their for only the metaphorical reasons, much like Aesop's Fables; after all. they are called teachings, arn't they?

For me it's obvious. God is only represented as being UP to show that He's higher than your normal conscious mind. God represents the conscience - the Jiminy Cricket - to show you what's right and what's wrong and help you. Heaven is the metaphor for happiness and hell is the metaphor for sadness. To say that you go to heaven when you die would mean to die happily with beautiful thoughts. The star is your path to help (where did the star lead? Jesus).

Religion and science are perfectly joined like a two piece puzzle. They fit together so easily, but most of the world is too naive and ignorant to understand the metaphorical reasoning behind anything. And being at school now, at 15 years of age, I can see that my peers arn't going to become any better. Religion was never meant to cause what it has done today. Religion is just a way of making the universe and the mind easier to understand. People screwed religion up and so did the media, and now the world is a huge fighting time bomb; it's only getting worse.

There's my two cents, anyway.

Thank you if you actually bothered to read this. I like people to know what I think.

So, do you believe that after you die, you are dead and there is nothing else beyond that?  That you need to make the best of the life here on earth.  What do you believe about the higher conscious that you spoke of?  Can you do anything more at that level of conscious like healing, flying, walking through walls etc... or is that just to make you a better person?  What does it mean to be a better or good person?

So, do you believe that after you die, you are dead and there is nothing else beyond that?

Apart from the fact your energy disperses and your particles form parts of other things and becomes part of the grass and the other animals etc.

That you need to make the best of the life here on earth?

Well why not? You might aswell if you want to die happy.

What do you believe about the higher conscious that you spoke of?

The conscience is the part of your brain that tells you what's wrong and what's not and helps decides things for you (you being the conscious part of the brain). Everybody knows that.

Can you do anything more at that level of conscious like healing, flying, walking through walls etc... or is that just to make you a better person?

The conscience is affected by your peers and is influenced by parents and everything you see, hear, smell, taste or feel. Everything contributes to what your conscience defines as right and wrong. For example, I hate smoking, drinking alcohol, drugs etc. yet other people may like 1 or 2 of those things. Your conscience has limits. It does not alter the world around you physically, but it may mentally. It's not going to suddenly allow you to heal, fly and walk through walls, because all it consists of are electronic pulses travelling along your nervous system.

What does it mean to be a better or good person?

As I said before, the conscience is influenced, therefore the definitions of good and bad, right and wrong, better and worse are simply relative to perspective.
