Um, probably. From Sci-Fi Wire: Universal Pictures is near a deal for Batman Begins helmer Christopher Nolan to direct a feature-film version of the classic TV series The Prisoner, Variety reported.
Janet and David Peoples are set to write the script. Scott Stuber, Mary Parent, Barry Mendel and Emma Thomas will produce.
The British TV series lasted 17 episodes in 1967. Patrick McGoohan played a government agent who resigns and is kidnapped and placed in a mysterious town known as the Village. He's given a new identity—Number Six—and interacts with a staff trying to get him to reveal why he resigned.
The plan is for Nolan to direct a contemporized transformation after he completes The Dark Knight, the Batman Begins sequel that begins production early next year at Warner Brothers. Article

Well it sounds better than the Sku One remake Ive been hearing about. But Im still very iffy about anyone trying to recreate the Prisoner. Its just too good, it cant be remade.

i usually don't like recreations. i liked insomnia though, but i haven't seen the original. i guess what i'm getting at is that such a great director should stick with original productions.

I hated Batman Begins, damn!! This Nolan is starting to make me angry. Why did he do something so gross? And I'm reading he's going to make a sequel...

Batman Begins was amazing work and I'm keenly anticipating the sequal, however I worry about him becoming stagnent if he continues to do adaptations and remakes.

"Batman Begins was amazing work and I'm keenly anticipating the sequal, however I worry about him becoming stagnent if he continues to do adaptations and remakes." - This is exactly my fear, Windom. When I heard Chris Nolan was going to direct the Batman film, I was excited and wary...Bryan Singer had a promising career with Usual Suspects and Apt Pupil then he got bogged down with the X-Men series THEN he did the new Superman film...I am not dogging him...I watched the first X Men filmed and liked it...but again if Nolan does do the Prisoner then he is indeed following suit...by the way, I liked Batman Begins...I am however really looking forward to The Prestige when it is released this fall.

To be completely honest, I preferred Superman returns. At least that film tries to stay true to what the comic book and the first film by Donner (with Reeve) were like - exaggerated and funny and I liked Spacey and Routh as well. Batman begins is an attempt to humanize at the excess the story of Bruce Wayne, the whole second part is just boring and pretty standard, it didn't resemble the comic and any of the previous films of Batman (I'm pretty much referring only to the Tim Burton's films and not the Schumacher flops). Plus, Katie Holmes did try to become a real actress in here but her only good scene is the one when she drives Bruce in the underground city and tells him the situation of Gotham. The rest is tedious and I think that film ruined also Christian Bale's filmography. He is one of my favorites, but this is just a commercial operation with a lot of flaws.

I loved Memento and Insomnia (I haven't seen the original of Insomnia yet, but I can't imagine I could like it better than Nolan's version) but Batman Begins was not worthy of Nolan. I didn't hate that movie but it was only pretty good; nowhere near the amazing Burton films. I prefer V For Vendetta to it by a long shot. Christian Bale was pretty perfect as Batman though... finally some one is type cast as Batman (the other casting choices for that part were just weird). It had way too much build up, and little in the way of a reward. Great cast though, with the exception of Holmes and Freeman (good actor but he had nothing to do in that movie). It's very hard to do original work though... nearly every Hitchcock film was based on a book. I look forward to anything by Nolan (at least for now).
That god damn trailer's more popular than Uncle's Day in a whorehouse!
