Oh well.  Best be honest:

Manners and Physique - Adam Ant

Ghosts of Oxford Street - Malcolm McLaren et al

My theory by A. Elk, brackets, Miss, brackets. This theory goes as follows and begins now. All brontosauruses are thin at one end, much much thicker in the middle, and then thin again at the far end. That is my theory, it is mine, and it belongs to me, and I own it, and what it is, too.

Oh my god. I molested that album on a daily basis my freshman year of high school. I had such a boner for Adam Ant for many many years. Which was finally laid to rest when I saw that horrid vampire flick he made (he still looked hot, but I couldn't forgive him for that rancid tripe).

Roy Orbison- 16 Biggest Hits

'Cause I was listening to A Black and White Night Live and wanted a compilation of the original recordings. I have Lynch to thank for fostering an interest in Orbison's songs. It sure as hell wasn't because of any Julia Roberts flick.

The last CD i bought was from a band called "The Mass Movement Of The Moth". Weird band name for a weird band. Very technical, ethereal indie stuff.

Rogue's Gallery, a 43 track double disc put together by tribute master Hal Willner. It's all sea chanteys & pirate songs commissioned by Gore Verbinski & Johnny Depp (appearing on the disc as Jack Shit), it features singers like Nick Cave, Bryan Ferry, Lou Reed, Lucinda Williams, Richard Thompson & several Wainwrights. My fave of these is Loudon W.'s version of The Good Ship Venus ("The cabin boy was Kipper/ by God he was a nipper/stuffed his ass with broken glass & circumcised the skipper".). Filthy & hilarious. It's selling big in Seattle. Had to get mine at Best Buy.

BT- this Bianary Universe

Now, usually I wouldn't take the time to buy anything by BT.
He's usually very rave, or Hip-hop stuff. Which I don't like.

But after seeing this link for the album:
http://thisbinaryuniverse.org/
I realized this is a whole new BT.

This album is incredible (picked it up yesterday on the way home). If you like it, I suggest picking up the album he did for the film Monster, because that's when he actually started in on his ambient phase. It's all bril as far as I'm concerned.

Yesterday I also picked up Ladytron's Light & Magic, which is their only album I was missing. w00t! And also Goldfrapp's Supernature (I KNOW...I suck for not having it sooner) and Mates of State's Bring It Back.

The glitch/IDM aspects of it just kill me... this is so good.
If you like this album Amanda, I highly recommend Farhrenheit Fair Enough by Telefon Tel Aviv. (unless you already have it)
PM me for details if your interested.

Actually I got TP soundtrack via amazon. Also recently a 2nd hander ... Black Angels by Kronos. The latter will send chills down your spine.

Beauty is momentary in the mind -
The fitful tracing of a portal;
But in the flesh it is immortal.
The body dies; the body's beauty lives.
So evenings die, in their green going,
A wave, interminably flowing.
So gardens die, their meek breath scenting
the cowl of winter, done repenting.
So maidens die, to the auroral
Celebration of a maiden's choral.
Susanna's music touched the bawdy strings
Of those white elders; but, escaping,
Left only Death's ironic scraping.
Now in its immortality, it plays
On the clear viol of her memory,
And makes a constant sacrement of praise.

('Peter Quince at the Clavier' by Wallace Stevens)

Let's see, yesterday I bought

Tidal- Fiona Apple (Only my second from her.)

Echo- Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers (I know, I know, I just recieved a Petty CD earlier this week, but it was 5 bucks. Plus, it's f*ckin' Tom Petty.)

Stadium Arcadium- Red Hot Chilli Peppers (On sale at Target, though some customer service bitch tried to convince me I was mistaken. Made me walk all the way back to electronics and show an associate the clearly labeled flag next to the seven other copies on the shelf. She didn't even apologize when I got back. )

I seem to spend more money on CDs than DVDs, anymore. Probably 'cause I'm listening to some kind of music virtually 24/7 these days.

SCP, it's a recording (Double CD) of the live concert they did for BBC Radio 2 with the BBC Concert Orchestra a few months back. Pretty awesome stuff! (They're backing it up with the release of Numb as a single in the UK. Shame it wasn't Integral, but then the BBC might not play it - jeez, some thought I'm With Stupid was too political, apparently!)
