Hi snog. If you were in a check out line at a store and an adorable baby smiled at you, wouldn't that touch your heart ? Or not really ?

Babies = no, never

Kids 5-8 = sometimes cute, but rarely so, and not worth putting up with the downsides.

Kids 8-16 = horrible pain in the arse.

Puppy dogs = pretty nice, but a pain in the arse.

Kittens = yes, I am hopeless in front of a kitten.  I will make stupid noises and act like a fool.

Yup, that's usually where it starts.  Hang tough, Andrew, or the puppies may seem pwetty adorable soon and who knows what could follow!

By the way, don't you also find that 18-30 group deplorable?

Fish are nice.  Except for stingrays.

lol,i HAVE been grinned upon by a random baby-and yes,i am captivated as well as flattered.the one thing i like about small children is that they don't judge you.

i like older children as long as they aren't busy being little snobs.i do like teens a lot,but am intimidated by them en mass!

however,i am not particularly fond of the early 20 something group:i think that's the worst age group ever.

 as for cats,i get terribly goofy.i baby talk to them and make silly noises.ditto for certain dogs.

it's pileated, isn't it?

 Is it possible we've stumbled upon another common trait amongst the non-reproductive left = CATS!?

LOL! I used to work with a guy who was an 50s years old unmarried leftie who only had cats. Of course, one of the cats he had, he said he hated, and knew that the cat would outlive him just out of spite.

Just to be completely fair (and balanced) as is my wont, I must confess to being a longtime cat owner (or 'companion' as is the terminology mandated in the Bay area) and to carrying on conversations with them as well.  Like 'why ith my widdle puddy tat making hairballs on the kitchen counter?' or 'what happenth to my widdle baby-waybee??? why won't my widdle baby use his litter box for that dirty nasty you just left on the Chinese carpet, hmmmmmmm?'

Lovely Lola the Lab wouldn't dream of leaving behind any precious bodily fluids or solids and even paws at the door in the rare circumstance of having to .  Such a lady!

 Lol, I am a member of the non-reproductive left and I am "companion" to 2 cats (one is on my lap purring right now).

Maybe it's because people who lean left tend not to need things they can train and control and that will be obedient but rather enjoy free souls with their own thoughts   Just a gross generalization!
