An Apology to Our Readers

After an investigation, The New Republic has determined that the comments in our Talkback section defending Lee Siegel's articles and blog under the username "sprezzatura" were produced with Siegel's participation. We deeply regret misleading our readers. Lee Siegel's blog will no longer be published by TNR, and he has been suspended from writing for the magazine.

Thankfully many of my favorites still exist with no controversy at all.  Who can forget extreme right wing.net where you can buy really cool stuff:

Border Crossing Sign

Straight, Conservative, Proud

Stay Armed Stay Free

Hey Iran!

Democrats

Abort Liberalism!

Terror Scale - French Edition

Okay, I'm off to http://michellemalkin.com/ now, I think I'll pick up a copy of her book as well.  "In Defense of Internment: The Case for 'Racial Profiling' in World War II and the War on Terror " by Michelle Malkin.  Sounds like a very nice little read on locking people up based on colour being the "right" thing to do.

You know there are TWO well-known writers named Lee Siegel. One is the guy Jamie mentions here and the other is a professor of Indian religions at the University of Hawaii, who happens to be the father of a friend of ours. Surprised me when I checked Amazon and found the two intermingled. The latter Lee Siegel is a fascinating character and I couldn't imagine him inventing bloggers and creating fictional comments. You had me worried for a minute, Jamie!

I'll be in Hawaii this October, I'll stop by the University and see what kind of t-shirt he's wearing!

Glad to hear your friend is above board Susan.

He was a graduate of Berkeley in the 60s, if that's any indication. I've never met Lee Siegel, the father and only know the son, a male model, actor, work-out guru with an occasional deep thought thrown into the mix. Not my type!

Tee hee!

I noticed there seemed to be two fairly prominent owners of that name when I googled the poor fellow. I hope your friend's dad doesn't get an emailbox full of misaddressed rantings. [crossed-fingers smiley]
