The first episode actually aired last Sunday. I like it a lot, but then again I'm a sucker for Mike Hall.

Cool!! I really like Mike too...when I heard he was doing a new show and the premise behind it, I was instantly interested! I hope to catch the pilot sometime soon.

*LOL* Don't you love how we just call him "Mike" like we know him or something. :D

The premise totally caught my attention when I heard about it. Even if critics panned it, I was going to check it out just because it sounds cool. And so far it has been, but then again, just saw the one ep. :) It's so strange to see Hall in a role totally opposite of what David Fisher was. Nice changeup. And I think it's funny that he's now doing a series for Showtime even though he had a longtime home on HBO. Dunno why I find that funny...I just sorta do. :P

Oh yeah, this seems like something I would be interested in viewing as well. IF ONLY IT WERE POSSIBLE.

I guess I'll just have to wait 'till it's canceled and Bravo! picks it up, like they've done with Six Feet Under, which I should have been watching about six years ago. That's partially my fault, though, the DVDs have been fully available at Hollywood Video for at least the last few years. Which is more than I can say for Carnivale.

End of "I'm too poor for premium cable channels" rant.

It's shows like these that I wish that I had cable or that my parents had showtime instead of HBO.  I really want to see this show.  It looks really freakin good.

EDIT:  I just found this for those of us who want to see it.  Go to this website, click play and type the password sneak peek.  Showtime put out the ep for free online!

I do like this show, but I am not sure why.  The whole idea that a show like this is on TV really troubles me, but at the same time I am rooting for Dexter to kill people.  2nd episode was on last night and of course I watched.  How long it will last I'm not sure.  It just seems a little too phony if that makes sense.

For those of you who haven't seen it this guy is a blood spatter expert for the Miami police department and also a serial killer.  But don't worry:  he only kills bad guys.  Kind of like Robin Hood.  He has a girlfriend who was sexually traumatized which works out great since he's not really interested in sex.  He has a sister who is also on the police force and she's constantly going to him for his criminal expertise.  She hasn't a clue he's a murderer either.  The only one on to him is another serial killer who is out there somewhere and leaving little surprises in Dexter's apartment.  Interested?

havent seen the show, but is it based on the character in the jeff lindsay series? I read "darkly dreaming dexter" he was a blood splatter expert who went around killing the people who the police sent him to find.

Just watched the 4th episode. I guess you could say I am hooked on this show...I wouldn't go out and buy it, well, I say that now...Michael Hall is the reason I am watching it and he is just terrific in this series, but tonight's episode was very good because of his performance but I also thought the way the secondary characters were develeped more and their subplots were interwoven within the rest of the main part of the episode was very well done.  And I must say that James Remar is an excellent choice to play Dexter's father in the flashbacks, another thing I dig about this show. Definitely worth watching and keeping up with. So, were the reviews really that bad?

I haven't even seen any reviews for it really. Haven't been paying much attention, though I did catch a snippet in EW where they said it was a show to definitely check out. Other than that, though. Wasn't aware it was being panned. Grrr.

I have seen only good reviews as well.  I haven't heard anything negative.  This last episode had me feeling a little better about the show.

Watched the 5th episode yesterday and although I didn't feel it was good as the last it was still good television. Micheal is just great. I like his sister more and more each episode. She is definitely my favorite secondary character. This episode did have a couple great flashbacks with his father and when Dexter asked that destestable couple how they made their marriage work, well I thought was quite funny, albeit in a sick way.

I hate it when this happens (not very often).

Yeah, gah... I really want to see this show. My brother told me about it yesterday and he said it was like a mix between CSI and American Psycho... Hmm... Damn, why do I not live in the U.S.?

Just watched episode 6 last night...okay, no spoliers, but it was a good episode and it was interesting seeing Dexter in that predicament...one of the best episodes so far...I'll watch episode 7 when I get back from my trip.

Just watched ep 11 tonight.  I have been hot and cold on this series but tonight was very strong.  I won't post any spoilers but this show now has my full attention!

I have read both the books-Darkly Dreaming Dexter and Dearly Devoted Dexter.  Both books were great reading.  But it was a big mistake to read the books and try to watch the series.  I keep waiting for things to happen that aren't happening.  Darkly Dreaming Dexter had the "ice truck killer" but it was a completely different scenario.

I am a few episodes behind...I think episode 8 was the last one I watched and I had my suspicions about you know who for a couple episodes prior. Looking forward to getting caught up on the last 3 episodes.

Cool!!! Michael C Hall was nominated for a Golden Globe for best actor in a drama series. Also of note: Hugh Laurie and Bill Paxton were also nominated for House and Big Love, too bad Grace Zabriskie and Harry Dean Stanton weren't recognized for their work in Big Love
