I swear, some of these coincidental match-ups are priceless. And I like some of Smokey's choices too, even though he cheated and didn't go the random song route.

Maybe, some time, when I actually feel like putting some thought into it, I'll come up with a more accurate song list. But this one'll do for now.

As chosen by my RCA Lyra mp3 player (which, incidentally, I do not recommend as your next consumer purchase):

Opening song: DJ Shadow - Best Foot Forward -- cool and thematically appropriate
Waking up: Dntel - Anywhere Anyone -- excellent
First date: Stereolab - Cybele's Reverie -- sounds like a good date to me
First kiss: Insurgent - Firewalls -- whuh?
Falling in love: Television - See No Evil -- guh?
Seeing an old love: LTJ Bukem - Watercolours -- quite good
Heartbreak: Radiohead - Paranoid Android -- accurately suggests the associated mood swings
Driving fast: Miles Davis - Freddie Freeloader -- not so much
Getting ready to go out: Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - Is This Love? -- very suitable
Partying with friends: Bebel Gilberto - Sem Contencao -- upbeat and quite good
Dancing at a club: Prefuse73 - Expressing Views Is Obviously Illegal -- that would be one weird club, which is good
Flirting: Barry Adamson - Something Wicked This Way Comes -- the more I think about it, the more I like it
Feeling sexy: Interpol - Obstacle 1 -- I tend to go for the gloomy type, so why not
Walking alone in the rain: Interpol - NYC -- no better match is possible
Missing someone: Cocteau Twins - Sugar Hiccup -- pretty good fit
Playing in the ocean: Radiohead - Myxomatosis -- only if "attacked by sharks" counts
Summer vacation: Daryl Hall - Survive -- umm, no
Fighting with someone: Beck - Missing -- three poor matches in a row
Acting goofy with friends: Beck - Hell Yes -- an excellent opportunity to dance like a robot
Thinking back: Jeff Buckley - So Real -- again, no better match is imaginable by me
Feeling depressed: Gorillaz w/ MF Doom - November Has Come -- pretty darn good
Christmas time: Angelo Badalamenti - Diane and Camilla -- I find Christmas sad, so this works for me
Falling asleep: Joanna Newsom - Three Little Babes -- fine, it's a fairy tale, but it's the grim variety
Closing song: Stereolab - The Noise of Carpet -- well, it would sound good over end credits...

And Smokey, I'm beginning to suspect that you and I are actually the same person. I mean, I've never seen us in the same room at the same time...

I just had to say I think your list is really cool, Rocky. Reminded me of watching MTV back in its heyday...

Ha ha--thanks, Smokey! I love a heck of a lot of music--but I think sometimes I'm just still stuck in the 80's. LOL.
