Michael Crichton's ne novel "Next" shipped 2 days ago! Can't wait for it to be distributed in Bulgaria. I read it's a thriller about genetic engineering. Crichton at his finest! He's simply the king of high tech thrillers. The level of realism in his books is amazing as he is a man of science himself. Every extraordinary event in his novels is explained to the smallest detail so you end up believing everything that is happening in the story and that level of realism elevates the thrill of the book itself! Not to mention the very realistic characters and his skill to keep you occupied and intrigued by the storyline in every moment without losing your atention. His style is simply brilliant. To me he is the king.

So, care to share a thought on Michael Crichton's work or more specificly his new novel "Next" ?

P.S. Here's an introduction to the book - http://www.michaelcrichton.com/

I have a coworker here who is a HUGE Crichton fan. I'll have to pick his brain about the new novel. He's on vacation for a few weeks, but I'm betting when he returns next Monday this will be all he can talk about.

Well you are excused but damn, doesn't anyone have anything to say about Crichton's novels ? Guess most of us DLynch fans are a bunch of day dreamers who lack interest in novels with scientific inclinations

Yes. That's it. We must be nothing but a bunch of butterfly-watching airheads because we don't drool over Crichton.

If I wanted to read science, I'd buy textbooks.

I shared my remembrance with Erwin via Private message. it was about meeting DR. Michael Crichton when he first moved to LA in the early 1970s . I have nothing more to add except to say I loved that book on Koko the Gorilla.

Gorillas are nice too.

I picked up a copy of "Next" at Costco as a Christmas gift.

Myself, I haven't read any of his books since Jurassic Park but have heard him interviewed a number of times.  I like the guy.

He's so tall.
