This is another topic geared mostly toward Christians.  But if others want to join in that's cool.  What do you think about the Sinner's Prayer.  Should Christian's use the Sinner's Prayer In Evangelism since it isn't in the bible one time.  If you don't know what the Sinner's Prayer is, it is a prayer people say when they come to know the Lord.  Like Lord forgive me for my sins, cleanse me by your blood.  I make you Lord of my life.  I know you died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead.  I ask you to change me, mold me transform me and fill me with Your Spirit.  You get the point.  It is a prayer that comes from the heart.

Anyway, if you look in the bible.  Most of the people came to the Lord by having an encounter with Him through healing, casting out uncleans spirits, miracles, signs and wonders, love etc....  It was the same with Peter and Paul.

The Sinner's prayer isn't a bad starting point for someone who isn't a Christian.  Even better might be the Lord's prayer, although that doesn't explicitly mention Christ and salvation.

Christ's example was reaching people through acts.  Equally, I've found no-one's interested in considering the merits of christianity when they get beaten up in theological debates.  Rather, it's the people who are impressed with how you live your life so well, and want to know your secret who are the most likely to see the light.  This is because more than theorising, they can see glimpses of Christ in how you conduct yourself.

Also, many people take a while to investigate, poke and prod, ask all the hard questions they like, before they finally accept the truth.  This could take weeks or months.  Not everyone is an instant convert wanting the Sinner's prayer on the spot.  In some ways that's an unrealistic expectation, and almost a lazy approach to evangelism imho.

I have used the sinners prayer to lead some people to Christ and have seen a change in them.  Like night and day.  But I have also seen people healed and God's Spirit falling down in the streets and seeing people turn to Christ after having an encounter with Him and other things as well.  I think the whole key is being lead by His Spirit and steping out.  Which also means some of the things you mentioned about living your life before people and they see Christ in you.

I know by some of the things I say and do on here, people may get a very wrong idea about me and I am not saying I am lead by the Spirit, in some of the things I say and do in here.  But if people met me in person.  I think they would be surprised at how shy, dorky and loving I am.  I am not as cocky as I am in here, unless God's Spirit falls upon me, but then I am not really cocky.  Just bold.  What I mean by being lead by the Spirit.  Is that sometimes out in public, like at a store, a mall, a bar etc....  God will let me know who to talk to and who not to talk to and sometimes people will turn their life to Him right on the spot, because He is letting me know who is ready for Him or who needs prayer or healing etc...

Try sometime if you have not.  Just scan the area next time you are at a store or something and some people will just seem to jump out at you.  And you may start to feel a little neverous.  You may do this all of the time.  I don't know.  But from what you have written and from your other post.  I think you usually use lifestyle evangelism and acts of kindness evangelism. That is the most natural flow for you.  I can tell you are someone with a compassionate heart and you care deeply about others and don't want to see them be hurt.  God Bless.
