Yeah...was 59 two days ago...know what it is now? 13!!!! Madison *about 4 or so hours away* is supposed to get up to 10 inches of snow this afternoon. We are on the North end of it and may get flurries.

We f-ing have snow now!! And it's coming down; we're getting pounded!! Did I sound sufficiently excited. My roommate is very excited, because last winter he was in the Iraqi desert. I am looking forward to calling my youngest sister in Georgia, she would love to be here right now to frolic around in this stuff. We are forecasted to get a foot, but since it tooks it's own sweet time getting here from Missouri (how ya' doin' down there Kelly and Jordan?)I am not sure exactly how much we will end up with.

We will be getting your storm later tonight and tomorrow, Smokey. Temp drop and high winds right now. It's great fun!

Lucky for Kelly and Jordan, they moved from Missouri way over to Kansas! It's probably balmy there. I'm a little jealous over that beautiful snow I'm seeing on the morning news. I even turned on the furnace this morning just to feel a part of it all even though the forecast is 70+ degrees today. Smokey, I could feel that old Chicago chill though when I saw the reporter on Michigan Avenue. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! When it's cold in Chi-town, it's C-O-L-D!
Looks like Michigan is snow-free though. How did that happen? Oh well, it's still FALL. I'm sure once WINTER kicks in Michigan will get its usual fair share of the white stuff. And then I may take another trip. Last time I scheduled a February trip, it didn't snow once. I really want to take a series of photos reminiscent of B&W in Color snow scenes of "A Simple Plan." Branches in the snow. If you're lucky, a cardinal flies by. Enjoy the snowballs and snowmen and ice skating! Any photos would be appreciated! I love to see snow! Did you know the temperature necessary to have snow is like as cold as your freezer?! Not just the frig -- the FREEZER, for cryin' out loud. Brrrrrrr, again!

It's not too awfully cold until the wind blasts you in the face. My roommate and I went for a little stroll so he could pick up a snow brush for his car and I could get cat supplies and coffee...The snow was perfectly packable. As soon as you scooped it up it was already in snowball form...The snow seems to have let up for now and the streets are clear in our 'hood courtesy of the diligent snow plows and salt trucks.

I'll put in another request for SNOW photos, guys and gals, even though I'm getting good mental images. Smokey, it's probably hard to take a photo with that lakefront wind in your face and a heavy bag of kitty litter in your arms, but uh, couldn't you try to snap a shot with your cellphone at least? And now I'll wait patiently. Susan

Holy crap do we ever have snow! Two feet yesterday (it snowed all night the day prior, all day yesterday and most of the day today) so Rob and I - and everyone else in Denver, have an extended vacation from work. Every car in my community is buried, entrenched in, or otherwise blocked by snow. Plows will not be able to get through the mess of cars that tried and failed to get out. I walked out to assess my car situation, saw the chaos and just went right back inside- and here I will stay 'til it warms up, which looks like Christmas day or later. Thank god I have an MC Escher puzzle to keep me occupied.

Um, we only had frost and temps in the high 20's here in West Marin. The hard part is living in a primitive condition in these temps... But man, what a feeling to get out of bed when it is freezing out!

It's 52 at 8:00 am here in central Ohio. I don't think that we will have any snow this year.

Didn't you get any snow when that last system blew through, smedsie? We we're supposed to get 8-12" but ended up with a paltry four inches. Yes, it is unseasonably warm here. It is December still but November the first two years I was here was quite cold and last winter was pretty mild over all. I just had a hoodie for a coat last night when I went out and I didn't feel the least bit cold. We had more than a few people stranded at the bar as the Denver was pummeled by the blizzard on Wednesday. I am wondering if they even got out of there on Thursday. Some people were trying Amtrak and all the trains were getting sold out. The high for today is 54 degrees at the moment. I am guessing it probably feels like about 40 degrees out there right now.

December 22 in Montreal without snow is a surprising thing, I must say. - - - - - Update: December 22 evening = freezing rain. A sure fire way to make Quebecers nervous.

Here in North Carolina, in the foothills, we have rain. Lots and lots of rain. I'm expecting a wet, nasty Christmas.

We had rain for two days straight in Omaha. They say we might have flurries by Christmas. Sorry, Susan, no pictures yet!

Smokey, we got a dusting about a month ago but nothing really stuck. It all melted by the afternoon. Good times!

Still no snow. Hardly enough ice to go ice fishing, yet we attempted it today anyway. Was a bit nervous, but it was just Eric's birthday and he REALLY wanted to go, so we did. Maybe will have snow by the end of the month--up North a few hours where we are originally from is supposed to get pelted with it. May have to go up there in order to get any sledding in!!! LOL. Even though I am missing the snow a bit, it is still nice to have such mild temperatures when it is almost January.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, that is BEEEEE UUUUUU TEEEEEEEEEE FUL, Jamie! Is that what you look out on when you wake up in the morning? There's nothing like fresh fallen snow. More! I understand there's a big blizzard blowing across the "four corners" states coming up. Get those cameras cranking, guys!

No snow AT ALL this winter in Poland. Very strange and unusual. We don't often have white Christmas but then - you get snow before Christmas or for new year, or in November... Well, like some people said before, we also had some snow in October what but hey, that's no SERIOUS thing to have snow in the middle of autumn. Snow happens in summer, too. Anyway, the whole year has been outstandingly warm. I suppose a few records have been beaten. July - hottest in over 200 years, September - about the same, practically NO rainfalls for over a month (in Sept.), now - a few weeks ago I coul walk around wearing sandals from time to time. Very unusual. But at the same time we had the biggest frosts for a looong time, too, last January. Perhaps it's coming this winter, too. (I hope! the insects haven't died out properly... the ticks are eating dogs up again...)

This was after the plow came through the day after the blizzard ended. Where the dude is walking is about a foot of packed.
Guys, it's freaking snowing again. 'Nother foot and a half tonight. One good thing when it piles up like this is it's conducive to napping, which is what I did most of Xmas.

Yes Susan, that's Elbow River, one of the 2 glacier fed rivers that run through Calgary. 12 - those shots look amazing! I agree, a nice snowfall is the perfect opportunity for a great nap.

Thanks for sharing your snow, folks! We had a moment of hail two days ago that felt a little like snow. But not really. Today in my part of LA = Abundant sunshine. High 67 F. Winds NNE at 10-20 mph. Stronger winds in and below canyons and passes.
