So I finally read the DaVinci code and I wasn't impressed at all. Angels and Demons was a much better book. What was the big deal?

I found The DaVinci Code made for great bathroom material. I mean, whenever I ran out of toilet paper, all I had to do was snag a few pages of that Dan Brown masterpiece and I was good to go again! Woo!

The film adaptation left me rather cold... BUT the "adult" sinema take on it: The DaVinci Co-ed, on the other hand... WHOA! Talk about a "dented bucket"!!!

They went waaaaaayyyy overbudget (by nearly 300 dollarbucks!!!) & it went straight to video (tape, that is. Not even DVD).

I wouldn't even use this book to mop up vomit. I developed a nervous tic when I worked in the bookshop because of all the chavs that would come in and say it was a great work of literature. NO, NO IT REALLY ISN'T. I wish I could cut these people some slack; I know the last thing they read was probably the nutritional contents box on the side of a cereal packet, but COME ON!!! It's a bag of wank.
My theory by A. Elk, brackets, Miss, brackets. This theory goes as follows and begins now. All brontosauruses are thin at one end, much much thicker in the middle, and then thin again at the far end. That is my theory, it is mine, and it belongs to me, and I own it, and what it is, too. Ange's Odyssey

I'd forgotten the beauty of this thread. :D I can't stand to look at Tom Hanks's face these days, so I haven't seen the film as of yet. Though I have had a few people tell me "it wasn't as brilliant as the book." Um. OK. LOL

This may be the most overrated book in the history of mankind, followed up by an AWFUL movie with Tom Hanks sporting one of the worst haircuts in cinema EVER. Gives me goosebumps just thinking about it.
"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it, don't wait for it, just let it happen. Could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot, black coffee. Like this." -Dale Cooper

I'm glad I'm not the only person who objects to Tom Hank's haircut in the film. I'd see commercials and go "ohhhhh...I didn't know it was physically possible to make him any look worse."

How the mighty have fallen; What was once a rather hard to find used book is now dirt. We have three hard back copies on the $2 rack and one on the 50c rack which have been there since Saturday. Oh well, at least some of his stuff still sells, in paperback, sometimes. rb

Of course if you just have to give us more money we do have a hardback reading copy for $13 and a first for $150. By the way this isn't spam as i don't make any money off the deal. As a matter of fact selling the books costs me time I could be stealing from the boss and using to write messages like this. yours in sloth, rb

I should have staged a mass burning of this book not long after Hanks was in my village filming for DaVinci Code, as I live in Roslin, Edinburgh...which is shown very breifly at the end of the movie, Rosslyn Chapel is just down the road fron me, about a 2 minute walk. I liked the book in parts but the film was crap..most of the stuff Dan Brown wrote was bullshit in DaVinci Code anyways. We do get idiot tourists that really thing the Holy Grail is buried under the chapel . Ive lost count of how many ive had to direct down to the chapel. One of em was on a bus with me and I informed him which stop to get off at...by the time he got off...I thought it was just the one tourist, about 28 followed him down off that same bus...I shook my head after they got off and was like....for fucks sake!! Didnt get to meet Hanks as I was working the days he was filming scenes here, shame
"Ive got good news....that gum you like is going to come back in style!" "I'm a WHOLE DAMN TOWN!"
