I wouldn't take it personally, because I don't identify myself as an atheist, as much as I don't think of myself as lactose tolerant, or as a person without an alcohol problem.
Some people seem to like this: "I can't believe how much God doesn't exist, and I will spend a lot of time thinking and talking about that". I don't think there is a God, and that's about it.
And I wouldn't want you to shut up because of a difference of opinion, this isn't the politics forum.
As for the "dangers faced by the secular humanists at the hand of the rabid fundamentalists" type of thread, I don't think either of these threads are about that, just that these things happen.

2cats The examples you gave are of natural selection/survival of the fittest - and that is completely in line with intelligent design theory. What you need to provide is an example of where a doberman turned into a polar bear because the weather got cold. ie. not small changes changes within a species, but a change between species. For this is the only point of difference between intelligent design theory and evolution theory. ID exponents just don't go along with the idea that rats became monkeys became giraffes etc...

That, and the fact that there is a difference between a scientific theory and a theory based on faith.

What you need to provide is an example of someone actually saying something like this.
