For those in the Seattle area, on Jan. 12 at EMP, at The Elvis Invitationals I'll be performing in the trio: Alvis & The Chicken Pluckin' Chipmunks, with honorary 'munk Strong Bad!!! I'm Alvis, my son Nick is SB, & his lady Emily is Simone: the world's first transsexual singing chipmunk!!  Be there or be somewhere else!!!

We'll be doin' our own "version" of Rubberneckin', which was in the movie Change of  Habit, which featured Mary Tyler Moore as a nun who has to choose between Jesus and... Elvis (well, the character he plays. A doctor)...

While shopping for S.B.'s boxing gloves at Value Village (didn't have any), I found a 20"  James Brown animatronic figure that does a minute or so version of I Feel Good, for $10!!! Score! Afterwards, I ran into a friend who loaned me the perfect red gloves I needed!  Some times things do work out...

That is a really good deal, Chris! My crazy collector neighbor has two of those he's found over the years of flea market/garage sale stalking. I heard their value went up after James Brown's death but maybe your seller didn't know.

There's one on eBay for $25,000!  But it's autographed.

You could be on Antique Road Show with that one!

HEH!!! That's my J.B.!!!  I got it at Value Vill (like Goodwill), so there ya go.... My friend Gene has his own collector's shop in Tacoma (www.tacomapop.com) & said a guy was in the day before asking for same said figure. I really would rather hold on to my treasure for now. Do you know of it's vintage, Susan? Mine's in really sweet shape.

My roommate bought one at Spencer's Gifts about three years ago. So it's not very old. I can't imagine buying it for thousands of dollars...I mean, it cost $12 on sale when the roomie bought it. It's not worth paying exorbitant amounts for...but it IS fun to watch and dance with when drunk. :P

I want a JB alarm clock figure that does Sex Machine:  "GET UP!  GET ON UP! GET ON THE SCENE!! LIKE A SEX MACHINE!!!"   Of course I always awake in full-on "sex machine" preparedness, but a little encouragement wouldn't  hurt. Speaking of, I'll be wending my way to EMP in a matter of hours (through the icy streets of Seattle) for our soundcheck. A bit of "good luck" wouldn't kill y'all...

Well, no "good lucks" cost us!!! We scored fairly low, but we did quite well. To be fair, we were the ONLY act on the roster that didn't do a straight Elvis imitation. By those standards, we should've scored dead last (we didn't).  One guy loved our act so much, he asked if we'd perform at a Seattle club opening in March. We'll see how legit he is when he calls...
