The Requiem, esp Sanctus x 3. Very melodramatic!

Also, Turkish Rondo. You can really dance to it.

Eine Kleine Nachtmusik is quite good.

Piano concerto no. 21 has a certain fragile delicacy. (Is it 21 or a different one?)

Yep, these are exactly my favourites too... I love Mozart... The greastest composer ever!

Mozart is my mother's favorite composer. I don't really care for him that much. Out of the 10 to 15 classical CDs I own, none are by him. Then why post in this Amadeus thread you might ask? Good question.

You're so odd, that sometimes I am forced to post how odd you are.

PS Now I have "Baby, baby do it to me rock me" stuck in my head!

In my humble opinion, his comic operas are his best work.  His timing was impeccable and he managed to mix homour with pathos in such a delicate combo that you couldn't help feeling it all.  And it's not his fault that the end of Cosi Fan Tutte sucks arse (i guess)!

I am likely to miss the main event

Thank, Rebel. We obviously agree anout Mozart's greatness. Mozart is a very good composer, I think. Well, he was a genius I guess. It all came so naturally to him. He didn't even have to work hard.

I will listen out for Don Giovanni, now that you mention it.

The Last Symphony, also called 'Jupiter' is one of my favorites.

Così fan tutte is one of his best operas written by Lorenzo da Ponte. It's a little shakespearian also...

Mozart was a genius. His music is one of the most likeable and perfect technically and aesthetically. They call him, along with Beethoven and Schubert (only quoting the most remarkable), one of the greatest masters of "absolute music". Plus, his life was just incredible! I am in adoration every time I hear Mozart.
