Happy romantic returns to all you lovers out there, and most especially, to the relatively "loveless" (like me)... You're all invited to our V.D. sampler show: Who Says This Isn't Love?, running at 8 on the 14th, 16th, & 17th at the NW Actors Studio Cabaret (1101 E. Pike St. on Seattle's Capitol Hill). We had a very strong opening weekend. My bit as a flamboyant film director (with a hint of Lynch) went over well, & my piece: The Mocha-philes (about 2 recovering chocoholics) is one of the best things I've done (thanks to the amazing Katie Voss, who some of you may recall from the TP: Live readings). Dancemusicsex&romance to ALL of you, & mayhaps SOME of you I'll see at the theater...

I hate the whole idea of it but if I don't send a card and stuff I'll not hear the end of it. Compromising my values for an easy life...

| QUOTE: I hate the whole idea of it but if I don't send a card and stuff I'll not hear the end of it. Compromising my values for an easy life... | "Send a card"? What, is your significant other an inmate? Being a sexy secular humanist resistant to nationalistic chest-thumping, S.V.D. is the perfect holiday for me (even if I'm usually "dateless"). And our show is not a sentimental celebration. There's also satire, cynicism & salaciousness!!! Hope that "card and stuff" thing works out for all you Valentine's haters... DO NOT "compromise your values" on my account.

haha no she no jailbird, she happens to live a good 2hour drive away from me, i really only see her on weekends. A good boyfriend would prob make the effort ;-) On wednesday there's a rock night on here in belfast called the 'st valentine's day massacre' which is strictly not for luvvie-duvvie couples. Thats the way to go if i was single. Some angst ridden rock n roll to grind away the nonsense of it all!

I dunno, James, but it seems to me like having a girlfriend so clearly GU almost qualifies you for the Single Night at the Belfast St. Valentine's Day Massacre party. Susan

For those unable to make our show, here's some sample dialogue from my play (The Mochaphiles) " KAKI: Wait. What do rabbits have to do with Easter anyway? WHIT: Don't you recall the bunny who stood vigil at the base of the cross, in spite of Christ's blood dripping onto his fur? KAKI: You're making that up. WHIT: Even the word itself denotes Christianity. "Rabbit": "rabbi": signifying Jesus's Jewish heitage, plus "t", his transforming experience on the cross. KAKI: No. That's--- WHIT: Look it up. "

Haha, sorry, James. I should have thought you might not know the universal "GU" what with the whole of the Emerald Isle being easily navigated from east to west; north to south. Or maybe lady friend is a ferry boat distance away? Out here in the spread out land of southern California, people do 2-hour commutes one way to work and think little of it. A GU would have to be something like, oh, I don't know -- Florida? Maine?
