Britney Spears always seemed happy on the surface. She was good-looking, talented, successful. We thought she had everything.

But now we realise something was wrong all along. She was suffering inside. And she had to shave all her hair off to show us that she was not really happy. I really feel sorry for her, and hope things improve.

Early morning
She wakes up
Knock, knock, knock on the door

It's time for makeup
Perfect smile
It's you they're all waiting for

Isn't she lovely
This Hollywood girl

And they say..
She's so Lucky
She's a star
But she cry cry cries in her lonely heart
Thinking, if there's nothing missing in my life
Then why do these tears come at night?

Lost in an image, in a dream
But there's no one there to wake her up
And the world is spinning and she keeps on winning
But tell me, what happens when it stops

Baby

Isn't she lovely?
This Hollywood girl

And they say..
She's so lucky
She's a star
But she cry cry cries in her lonely heart
Thinking, if there's nothign missing in my life
Then why do these tears come at night?

Isn't she lovely?
This Hollywood girl

She's soo lucky
But why does she cry?
If there is nothing missing in her life
Why do tears come at night?

And they say..
She's so lucky,
She's a star
But she cry cry cries in her lonely heart
Thinking, if there's nothing missing in my life
Then why do these tears come at night?

She's so lucky.
But she cry cry cries in her lonely heart
Thinking, if there's nothing missing in my life
Then why do these tears come at night?

Only in as much as they've both worn really bad wigs.

My theory by A. Elk, brackets, Miss, brackets. This theory goes as follows and begins now. All brontosauruses are thin at one end, much much thicker in the middle, and then thin again at the far end. That is my theory, it is mine, and it belongs to me, and I own it, and what it is, too.

I thought the inspiration of the subject drove Booth to compose a li'l poem on the spot.

Exactly.  What was it that would give anyone the idea Laura Palmer was talented?  Her diary? Clumsy juggling of boyfriends?  Her ability to find time for homework plus delivery of Meals on Wheels?  Tutoring skills?  Or was it her back-up singing in "Just You and I"? I guess we'd have to ask her father.

Talented ?  QUOTE " I guess we'd have to ask her father. "

Ha !! Susan ?  Wow, Did you say that ?  I am shocked.  Anyway from IDLYITW to compare Brit with Laura:

)

Promises Clinic staffers found Britney's "death list" after stripping Spears when they suspected she smuggled cocaine into the facility. The list included Kevin Federline and several members of the paparazzi. A source said:

When the staff confronted her she just burst into tears. She was crying uncontrollably — she's now such a broken woman. She has dark fantasies about terrible things happening to her enemies."

.
Britney Spears has also reportedly become "increasingly paranoid" and routinely checks her room for recording devices because she feels "that her thoughts are being recorded." As a result, Britney has been now placed on suicide watch and the staff has reserved a bed for her at University of California Hospital's psychiatric ward. A friend says:

She's convinced that everyone is out to get her...And the smallest thing can set off a fully-blown panic attack. She gets this fearful look in her eyes and starts trembling all over, dripping with sweat and gasping for breath and she looks like she's going to faint at any time. It's absolutely terrifying to see. It is the behavior of someone who has completely lost their mind."

Jason Alexander, Britney's husband for 55 hours in 2004, has come forward to reveal that Britney's drug problem started a long time ago. He claims they used cocaine, Ecstasy, Valium and Vicodin during their brief relationship, and that Britney almost overdosed on MDMA, pure ecstasy. He says:

I took her into the bathroom and threw her in the shower. She was unconscious. She tripped and fell. I was trying to hold her up and speak to her. She wasn't moving. I remember looking down at her all crumpled in the tub with the water coming down. She looked so white and lifeless. I thought she was dead. I thought, 'This bitch is going to fucking die right here in front of me.'"

Holy shit, if you're Britney Spears' publicist you might as well go ahead and kill yourself. Unless you have a time machine, there's no way to fix this. Britney Spears could join Al-Qaeda tomorrow and it would be the best PR she's had in about a year.

EDIT : kicked up to 10 font for a certain Dutchman

I really really do feel sorry for Britney Spears and all members of her family who actually care about her. This comment...

"She has dark fantasies about terrible things happening to her enemies."

...is pretty easy to understand. To be so constantly under the international microscope of millions of people who don't know her, will never know her but are enjoying her fall, is enough to make most of us have paranoid delusions. Add to that the Blue Plate Combo Special of drugs and any other outcome would be a miracle.

It's not that hard to break a human being. With the plethora of small video-recording devices on every individual she encounters in every step she takes, and the knowledge that each image is immediately downloaded around the known world, who wouldn't suffer a loss of perspective?

I don't see what the solution is to this ever-growing problem with every young celebrity. Will fewer little girls want to grow up to be famous as a result? I doubt it. Will legislation prevent paparazzi and their amateur counterparts from intruding on the privacy of stars? Can't do it. Will the websites and publications that make their livings from these moments cease to intrique? I doubt it. It seems to me it's bound to get worse. The day may come when actors and musicians cannot leave the walls of their fortresses except for rare outings.

Michael Jackson's family home is a couple miles from where I live. It is no longer so, but during decades gone by, there were permanently stationed paparazzi outside the gates. I just learned from a neighbor that Kevin Federline lives one street west of us. I don't usually drive south on that street where his house is but if I did, I've no doubt it would be a cinch to discover which one it is. There will be swarms of cameramen outside the gate. In fact, when I go out this afternoon, I'll check it out. Take a photo of the photographers for you to see. When he leaves the house, they follow. There are others parked outside the Malibu rehab center at the other end.

Really, who would want to live like that?

As a result, I never talk to celebrities when I run across them shopping or dining or at the veterinarian's office -- wherever. Once I was tempted with Harvey Keitel. He was sitting outside on the patio while we were seated on the other side of the glass window inside the restaurant. I probably would have said a quick something to him while waiting for our car but as it turned out, he had left before us. That would have been an exception to the rule though. Usually I feel as if catching a fleeting glance of a celebrity I admire is like spotting an elk along side the road in Snoqualmie. Be still. Enjoy the experience. And whatever you do, don't frighten them by getting too close.

Oh, Chris, I don't have a clue about Twin Peaks.  That show was on years ago and I'm lucky I remember the song at all.

Well, what can I say? It's a tragedy. Thanks to the person who put up the lyrics of Lucky. It seems like she was unhappy and she wrote a song about it, but it was still a long time before people realised. I blame the media and the paparazzi and celebrity culture.

I mean, when she started out, she was just a teenage girl, and she was proably naive and didn't know what she was getting herself in for, and then it was too late. Once you are fmaous, how do you get out of it? Every detail of your life is under public scrutiny. I couldn't stand it, myself. I need a little privacy. I think everyone does. Britney Spears is a human being, just like everyone else.

Well, I hope she gets over this, and maybe takes a few years off from her recording career to recover, drop out of the limelight, maybe go and live in a remote location, like a little village in Nepal where no one has heard of her, and rebuild her shattered life.

And she is talented, in a way. I think she's a very good dancer.

Kate Bush went through something like this. The media makes up so many lies about people. Tabloid journalists are disgusting. Kate Bush dealt with it by just completely avoiding the media glare, and she had a baby and looked after him for about 5 years, and the journalists didn't even know she had given birth to a baby! Ha! Serves them right! I don't blame Ms Bush. It's none of their business.

So, Britney Spears is still a human being and she doesn't deserve to suffer like this. No one does.

Susan mentioned not approaching stars in L A. New York is pretty cool about that too. You might nod your head, but that's all. Papparazzi are fewer here because...well it ain't Hollywood loaded with stars in individual domiciles.

Laura never had the Papparazzi treatment. Never lived to her mid twenties. Britney was probably never molested as a kid.

Even with divorce and and an alcoholic dad Brit had a more wholesome background for sure.

Today they're saying Brit is reading Brooke's book on post-partum depression.  There are a few momentous experiences the fictional Laura didn't share -- marriage, two baby boys in two years, and divorce. Real life is harder and it goes on and on way past two seasons and a prequel.

But I guess there is that Woman in Trouble commonality.  On the other hand, there are women aplenty with that affliction.

Just as I imagined, it wasn't too hard to find Mr. Britney Spear's house one street away and about 1/2 mile south. The gate was open. There were about 4 cars parked in the driveway. In an upper bedroom window, there is a wardrobe rack hung full of men's clothing. I believe this is in lieu of any window treatment. The house is renting for $7500 a month; lowered from the original asking price of $9500. It's still for sale for $2,500,000 though. This photo is the real estate version, which is how I know the prices.
r
I knew the street so all I had to do was look for the paparazzi guys' cars. Didn't want to be too conspicuous so I shot this from my car from the first intersection around the corner. Discreet, huh?! They will sit there all day and all night waiting for any signs of life. The house is across the street.

Drove up near Mulholland to take this shot below. Today the sky had that kind of beautiful light that comes with the sun and the clouds.

It looked like rain but it didn't happen. Here are some moody palms and cloudy skies from Tarzana.
