Halloween is coming back, in the form of a prequel, directed by Rob Zombie.

For details go to Halloweenmovies.com and see who's in it!  Not sure when it will be out, but I think sooner than the new Star Trek!

Rob Zombie isnt the best choice in the world, but he has a deep love for horror movies and knows what it takes to make one. So I wont complain about this. Still I'd prefer if it never happened.

I believe it was set to be released as soon as this August, but online complaints about leaked script details led to some rewrites. Most of them had to do with the way Zombie would be portraying Michael Myers' childhood (playing the abused, white trash angle, apparently).

I'm actually sorta looking forward to this. Kinda. Anything to wash the bad taste of Resurrection out of my mouth.

Zombie has the full support of John Carpenter and a hell of a cast.  Have you been to that website?  I'm just looking forward to seeing Halloween on the big screen!  (Wish I knew how to post a scary pumpkin smilie they have over there.)  If he does it right, this is one prequel I'm looking forward to.

Tyra Banks and Busta Rhymes? They should have taught Mike to loosen up and not be so white.

It was bad enough having Busta "busta move" on Michael's testicles with electrical wires. Which sounds a little like something a Sweathog would yell.

"Up your rear with gardening shears!"

At least the mask looks about right in this one.

Though... is that s'posed to be some kind of stitching or something?

Michael killed them, remember?  And if you want a sneak peak of the new mask, go to the Halloweenmovies site and see--it's a shade or two darker now!

EDIT:  Damn, LogicHat, you spoiled my surprise!

That doesn't excuse their clearly gimmicky casting. Also, I don't remember Busta getting axed, just Tyra (so Michael could step in her blood, which is clearly electrically conductive).

Ahh god, why are you making me remember?

Yes, I remember, but why wasn't Michael getting jiggy when killing them? Shaking his booty or doing a murder rap.
That's what puts asses in seats.

Sort of a "You Got Skewered" kinda thing? Hmm. I've heard worse ideas (case in point, Aliens vs. Predator 2).

I'm reserving judment till I see what Rob's got up his sleeve. I think this retooling is exactly what Michael needs. He's been watered down to hell and back and like most of horror's icon, has become a pokemon cartoon version of his former self.

I find myself not taking Zombie's reimagining that critically. It's not like Michael Bay is making this one, it's Rob, a fellow uber fan. I have a feeling he's going to bring some very dark and original touches all his own into this film.

I've been wanting pure evil to make it's return after his first return to Haddonfield. Rob's got the perfect cast, he's got the experience and he's got the heart to make this something special. Not just another WB remake of the week. I have faith Zombie will do Halloween justice.

Good or bad, I can't wait to see the final product. It's Halloween. I guess everyone's entitled to one good scare.

Ok, ok - I recant my earlier comment about looking forward to sequels/prequels...
