Confused eh.  It may be because of an old song :

                      " Well it's  1 for the money

                        2 for the show

                       3 to get ready

                       now ,go cat ,go

But don't you step on my blue suede shoes"      Carl Perkins and then Elvis (before your time my dear)

Fire.

All over the Griffith Park area.  Apparently arson.  What's in the vicinity?  The zoo, the observatory, lots of horse trails, Gene Autry Museum, and the merry-go-round.  The probable arsonist is in the hospital with burns.  He was seen coming out of the brush onto the public golf course just adjacent to the zoo.

Hopefully the firefighters will have this under control before nightfall.

Instant karma is a bitch. Maybe he'll be transported to the Grossman burn center?

I shouldn't laugh at an arsonist's burns, but yes, depending on the severity of his burns, it could very well happen.  Right now he's an Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital.  Whatever that is.

Down at County USC Hospital, where many trauma victims go -- gunshot wounds and bad accidents -- they have a jail ward.

Another hot day projected here with smokey skies.  The fire is expected to be under control later today.  Meanwhile the culprit -- or should I say "alleged" culprit -- is a homeless man who said he fell asleep while smoking.

Fire officials said late Tuesday that the cause remains under investigation. Police said that a man, believed to be about 20 years of age, was burned in the fire and was detained and cited on suspicion of smoking in a restricted area, which would be a misdemeanor. Officials would not say, however, if they believed that incident sparked the fire.

The man was listed in stable condition at the Grossman Burn Center at Sherman Oaks Hospital.

more rain in our forecast. The rivers are already breaking levees here and they are expecting more flooding around the area over the next few days.

<sigh> I'm so tired of rain.

Check out these photos from earlier this week. Before '26-miles across the sea, Santa Catalina..." caught fire.

First is a house in nearby Los Feliz, second is the LA Zoo, third and fourth are the Observatory -- one by night and the other the day after.

That LA fire was only 6 miles from Fred and Renee Madison's house, less as the crow flies.

(I think it's finally stopped snowing here. Hope I don't jinx it by saying so.)

Things in Seattle are idyllic. Hey, why doesn't everyone come out here for some sort of "celebration"?!

An idea not without merit. Weather would be 'mild', proximity to the falls and ther TP sites in the area. Worthy of a pros and cons review.

And for Rebel " It's rainin' down in Texas' Stevie Ray Vaughn- " Flooding Down in Texas " ?

90-something today.  Sunny. Same expected tomorrow.  And the next day and the day after that for a week.  Probably more of the same after that.

But then it will be sunny and hotter still.

Having a slight reprieve now with highs in the mid 70's.  Am going to take advantage of that this weekend--the 90's are supposed to be back next week.  We are going to be picking black raspberries all weekend--am glad it is going to be so gorgeous.  No fun picking those when it's humid and hot. Bleh.

Omg the weather here has been weeeird lately.  Last night it was raining really heavy, several parts of the North have it much worse because it has been so severley flooded, mainly thinking of York and Hull areas, flood warnings have been in force, "don't travel unless absolutely necessary" etc and the few days before the rain and floods started last week we had thunderstorms here everyday in a row for like 4 days which NEVER happens...it's weird...

Sitting at about 86 right now.  Just had a heavy rainshower--but the fireworks are supposed to go off as planned as we are supposed to have only cloudy skies tonight.  Happy 4th everybody! :)

Thermometer read 107* at the peak of the day today. It was miserable...the humidity was higher than normal, and no matter what I did, I just couldn't keep cool. I ended up laying on the kitchen floor with the cats...

It's supposed to reach 110* tomorrow in some areas...where my house is in my town (back up in a small valley between several hills) we don't get a lot of normal air movement, so the heat tends to just sit here like a big blanket. The rest of the town stays a lot cooler that our area does. So while they predict a high of 105* tomorrow, I'm thinking we'll be ringing in 110*. Woo!
