Ugh. Today was the pits. Digital thermometer read 112* in the sun (it was only supposed to be 103* today...). Tomorrow they're predicting 102*. I'm not holding my breath.

Fortunately, the humidity isn't getting much over 40%...about ten years ago we had a summer where it was high 90's/low 100's all through July and August with over 75% humidity most of the time. Which is unheard of in these parts. It was like being in Texas! :P

Just returned from driving back home across the Mojave Desert and Las Vegas, where it was a steamy 117 degrees.  Phew!  It was sooooo hot.  We spent our days in a poolside cabana with an overhead fan, cold drinks and misting devices blowing out cool vapor starting at noon.  Which is too late to start, when it is already in the 90s at 7:00 am.  It was hot.  Hot.  HOT!!! 

Back home in Tarzana, it is about 90-something and that is a relief.  I don't think I'll plan Vegas in July next year although we all did have a good time.  Probably time to return to the beach.

We've been averaging a bit over 90 the past couple of weeks in Colorado. 

p.s. The big hot star is the enemy of youth- everyone here looks like a burnt chicken mcnugget or a saddle bag with eyes.

I spent the week in Horseshoe Bay, TX (about an hour west of Austin) and I have to say the weather, while hot and humid, was actually great! The only time it sucked was in the morning before the breeze started up to move the air around.

Got into San Francisco last night to lots of fog and a stiff cold breeze which put a bit of a cramp in the barhopping we had planned. But today's weather in SF was sunny and breezy with a high of 77. Lovely.

Now that I'm back home for a whole whopping day, I'll be experiencing a high of 88 tomorrow before I head to the coast for a week where the weather is pretty much always low 60's and sunny every day. During that time it's supposed to be low 90's here in Vacaville.

Yeah, y'all so don't care, but I'm feeling particularly chatty tonight so I just thought I'd unload.

It's been quite hot here lately, high 80's and low 90's and the last week, week and a half has been humid too. Ugh!!

It rained hard this morning at around 5:15.  I was so blasted hot, I went outside, where it was about 60 degrees...stood there and got soaked.  Felt gooood.  Then it started to lightning and thunder so I went in...later when we went around town to do some rummage saling, there were tons of trees down and power was out on one half of the city.  Shazam.

Now it's in the low 90's again--we are going swimming in the river later.  It looks like it might rain again this afternoon.

According to this morning's reports, this is the last day of sun for a while for most of Britain.

Back to the usual then......

We had showers for a solid couple of weeks!  Finally got our blue skies back for the last 3 days though.  Makes it hard selling my wife's car as I have to keep cleaning it...rrrgghghgh.

It's hot.  Triple digits probably all week.  But it is August.  In this formerly Michigan girl's mind, I always look to September and certainly October as FALL.  But here in SoCal, we can expect summer to continue through those months.  I'm always grateful if it's cool enough for the fireplace come Thanksgiving.  I'm enduring.  AC on before 11:00 am and fans all night long.  Walk the dog in the shade.  Try to avoid asphalt parking lots.  Eat outside at night.
