By the way, Booth, an email was passing around work today about alternate methods of travelling there, given our current snowy conditions. I had no choice but to include "a photo of my own method of transport". I credited you, though.

Just like the weatherman predicted last week, it rained today. But as is so often the case, it rained through the wee hours of the morning and now there's just some wet pavement to show for it. Plants looking happy. A few puddles for Lola to gallomph through. My gutters were cleaned last week so I'm ready for more! My trees were trimmed last month so the roof is pretty leaf-free. My storm drains were flushed last month too. So bring it on, Extreme Weather! I can handle it! Christmas and Christmas Eve forecast: mild, sunny, mid-60s but I'll be dreaming of all those other white Christmases though.

Got to almost 40 today--felt like spring! Supposed to rain in the morning...changing to all snow by the afternoon. Now they are predicting 1-3 inches. A lot of our previous snow has melted...which is nice because it was very icy in spots, so this is at least getting rid of that rubbish. The snow was nice and soft today--I might have thrown a few snowballs at Eric...hope it's still good packing snow tomorrow--if so, something's getting built. Sore back be damned. :) **EDIT** 1-3 inches...HA! Try about 8 inches of drifting white. Supposed to get another 3-4 today. Good day to stay home inside...:) I kind of want to go play in it, but the winds are about 45 MPH...
**EDIT* It finally stopped snowing. We got 12.5 inches of snow. There's supposed to be some more showers, but nothing that should amount to very much more accumulation. The cars are dug out and moved to the street, hopefully our landlord will come in the morning to plow out the parking lot. You should see the drift in front of our door! T'is HUGE!

We've got fantastic weather going on right now. Raining cats, dogs, horses, elephants, and anything else mother nature has to throw at us. I'm listening to radio reports of severe power outages, floods, and downed trees. My house is bright, warm, and dry, so I'm feeling good. Ended up working from home today because after five minutes on the freeway this morning, I realized it was stupid to even try to commute today. Worried about SoCal. With all that burned recently, it just leaves them more susceptible to landslides! :(

Windy and rainy tonight in SoCal! In fact, it's been raining all day. Lola won't go out without a companion so that has been tough today. I will be interested to see what happened to the property behind us on a hillside. They have been doing construction for a couple years in fits and starts and the entire property is covered with piles of fill soil and blown away blue tarps. It is supposed to rain the entire weekend and boy did we need it. Hope everything stays put though. Amanda did you hear about that truck that turned over on the San Rafael bridge today? Susan

No! I didn't hear about that. I was watching a lot of Sacramento-based news, and they had the whole freeway on either side of the Sacramento Airport shut down due to multiple big-rig accidents on both sides. That's the only access to the airport, so you can imagine the trouble it caused, not to mention the winds were so ferocious that a lot of planes couldn't land for hours. Yeesh. I know up in the Sacramento area they had requested semis not travel on I-5 and I-80 for several hours yesterday while the winds were at their peak. Sounds like maybe they should've put that same restriction on all of our bridges. I know they all get ridiculous when the wind kicks into high gear, and the SF area yesterday had gusts of like 60-70mph. Insane.

We've been in the negative teens with windchills at 25 below zero for about a week and a half...today was the first day we were above zero. Got to 15. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the mid 20's, with a high near 40 on Monday before dropping back to the 20's. We got more snow today...we've had over 20 inches this winter so far. Had enough. LOL.

Rain, rain, rain for over a week! I love it! They say California has had more rain this month than Seattle. So there. Tuesday the sun is supposed to return and then I guess it will be spring. Susan

Oh, it is to laugh. Tomorrow is supposed to reach near 50...and then on Tuesday...a high of 6. Wiggity, wiggity... So...good news? Tomorrow is supposed to rain quite a bit--snow will melt. Bad news? Tuesday it will freeze and we will have skating rinks for roads and parking lots... Ha. Ha. :D **EDIT** Got to 47 yesterday. Was so gorgeous. Melting like mad. Today we are in the middle of a winter storm. So far it has only been windy as f*ck--gusts around 40-45 mph right now--with some light to moderately heavy snow. They are predicting 1-2 inches of snow for here--with up to 6 inches on the outskirts. I can't even see our car past the snow pile in front of the parking lot anymore... It's also cold. Sitting at 3 above right now with a windchill of -24. Windchills are supposed to dip into the negative 30's and 40's over the next two days. But then we will be back up into the mid to upper 20's. Thank goodness. WANT SPRING!!!! :D

Yes, Rocky we had the two extremes here in Chi-town too. Started out gorgeous on my way to work mid to high 40's, rainy but comfy...then the snow hit around 8pm, and then the high-powered, bone-chilling winds kicked in. By the time we left work around 1:00 am. OMG!! F-ing freezing!! 2 degrees with -24 wind chill.

I feel ya, Smokey. We're actually warmed up this morning--now -1 with an -18 windchill. FRICKIN' FREEZIN', MR. BIGGLESWORTH! :) Tomorrow's supposed to be up to 16 above. That will feel niiiiice. I'll go outside in Bermuda shorts singing "We're Havin' A Heat Wave"... ;) Pretty soon those 40's and higher will be here for a longer duration. That was just too glorious. Then our happy strings get cut, "FREEZE, PUPPETS, FREEZE!" Weather's just been plain goofy. The good news is that we didn't get hardly any snow here. Maybe an inch. Eric's bowling was cancelled last night because there was blowing snow and because it was so f-ing cold. That's pretty bad when you live in Wisconsin. LOL.

It got relatively warm today--hit 35. Was a mixed bag of stuff...had thunder-snow...snow...sleet...then snow again before it stopped. Was warm enough that it all melted off of the car, which was nice. Now it's greyer than grey outside. Going to go shovel the walk in a moment.

Cold. Windy. Snowing all week. Not icy, though. Great skiing powder.

64 degrees here in the mountains of Western NC. Windy and dry right now, but it rained from about 10 'til 4 today. Which was pretty disheartening, since I had a shoot (all exteriors) today. The fact that I had no actors was also not in my favor.

If it's February 7, then it must be spring in So-Cal. And so it seems to be. The 70s with sunshine and clear skies. Yawn. So much for our two weeks of winter, I guess. Time to think about planting those annuals. Susan

Supposed to get a little snow with a temp in the high 20's. Tomorrow's supposed to be 7. Then more 20's, more flurries, maybe some 30's...typical February. We just got missed by the big band of snow that went through Southern Wisconsin. Places a few hours from here got 20 inches of it. Two semi's got stuck up a hill in Madison causing a 500 some car jam and Humvees had to carry water and fuel to cars. That would be absolutely scary.

The weather here is....well...weird!! On one side of the country (East), it's been raining for a couple of months, they've had flooding problems, and have been asking where Summer is... On my side of the country (West), we've had non-stop hot days 37,38,39,38,37...etc. Today was a mild 36. We had a couple earlier on that went over 40. Last week out of nowhere we had 2 days of rain that covered the normal monthly rainfall, and then like a tap turning off we resumed the heat. I'm loving it actually - normally I don't like intense heat, and prefer warm over hot - but we have AC everywhere these days so it's not an issue.

70mph winds, and belting with snow. Temp around -15C with the wind chill making it -45C. Been snowing for 3 days. Oh I should add that I am currently in Far East Russia not in "Sunny Scotland"
