I've been to Tokyo, which used to be the place I most wanted to go, and would love to return someday, but as far as new places, I think I would most want to go to Spain.

I fell in love with Bangkok. COMPLETELY! I can strongly recommend going there. I would love to back and I wouldn´t mind working there again.
I love Greece too. It´s one of the coolest countries in Europe IMO. Athens and the smaller islands are wonderful!!!

I´d like to visit:

China

Tibet

Snoqualmie (of course) 

Berlin (might go this fall)

Norway 

New Orleans and New York 

Reykjavík - been there and would like to go there again, small town and real nice food, nice pepople and horses too :)

Aces! That place looks so gorgeous. There's something so mystic... 

And those who have mentioned Snoqualmie.  Oh. My. God.  It's mindblowing how lovely that little town is.  So beautiful.  Aside from fest activities, that's where Eric and I spent a good portion of our time.  Was like going back in time...

I would love to go to Los Angeles... and experience the atmosphere. I guess it's kind of cliché to want to go there, but it could be cool! And of course New York!

I also wanna go to Tokyo (Guess it has something to do with the fact that I'm totally obsessed with Lost In Translation at the moment, heh)

If I should pick I place I have visited and wanted to go back to it would be London. I love that city and I would so want to live there some day. I guess I'll be going back there in the fall/summer and visit my friend there. I miss London and I miss my friend :)

Italy.

Rome is the First Wonder of the World. A few weeks ago the NYT's travel section featured a long photo article on "Rome at Night." I could barely look. Made me too wistful being reminded that Rome is there.  And I'm not.  

Any small town in central Italy is probably going to be fantastic too and most of them in the south. The north, lovely though it is, is sometimes more Swiss in character than Italian. Italy is not just the beautiful men though that quality should not be overlooked. The people are generally friendly. The food is tasty. The shopping. Antiques and clothes and shoes. I always buy an umbrella in Italy! The weather! The gardens. The architecture. But most of all, the history.

Las Vegas is a wonderful getaway if you live within driving distance. I used to very much dislike it back in the Casino-era of the 1970s but have since come to enjoy every visit. This week I learned that the Venetian Hotel is closing the Guggenheim li'l mini museum within their lobby and that is sad. I go to Vegas and never never gamble a nickel so I enjoy alternative entertainment. The Bellagio Hotel also has a little museum. I like to stroll through Caesar's Palace Forum shops. Good restaurants and an interesting manufactured enviroment that mimics Rome at night! (of all things) Fountains, columns, gladiators and a fake overhead sky that goes from dusk to midnight every 15 to 20 minutes. It's fun! The drive to Vegas is always a good time too. Sometimes a turn-off into Death Valley if it's not between April and October. Two days is plenty in the desert though.  Vegas is disorienting and unreal which makes it the perfect spot for a brief pick-me-up.  Diversionary. 

I would also love to take a cross country drive through the USA again. Avoid all major cities. Wouldn't mind doing the same in several European countries. Nothing much better than driving into unknown regions with no schedule...

Susan, we've talked about this before in person, but I detest Rome. It is filthy, crowded and full of thieves.

Oh John, that's part of the charm!  I haven't been there in a decade -- more actually -- so maybe it's worse.  You can never go home again either but I'm holding onto my magical sense of Rome.  Rome for all time before I was there if not afterward.

It's not Inverness, that is for sure!  When I look back over my photos from Inverness a warm glow fills my heart as well since that was a really really good time!  

These days I am feeling a Vegas pull.  But with the heat of the summer, mostly I'll be hiding out in air-conditioned places.  The oppressive heat gives me the cabin fever that others experience in the northern icy cold winter locales.

Is it a beautiful day in your parts or is it hot up there too?

I always wanted to visit Egypt. But unless the climate would drastically change overthere there's no chance in hell I'd go near that place... unfortunatly...

I'd also like to go to LA one day. Revisit San Francisco and Chicago and next year I'll be going to Ireland...
