A book by Miranda July. Seriously, this book is incredible. Everything about Miranda July fills me with such immense love. Here is the website for the book. It will take you on a little tour with clicky arrows and all that Jazz. The book is a collection of short stories. Mainly dealing with characters who isolate themselves and only fantasize about love and relationships. Though the characters are not what you would call "sociable", you find yourself connecting to them, regardless of the fact that you (hopefully) understand social dynamics. These characters are extreme representations of all the things that hold people back from living their life, and making connections. I really hope you ddecide to get this book.

Thanks for the tip, MSA. I love Miranda July too! One time a few years ago I was driving along listening to an interview with her on NPR. I had no idea who I was listening to since I'd tuned in midstream. She took me with her as she talked about her daily life of eavesdropping at the post office line and other forms of gathering human material. I'll check out the website and the book but after I finish trying to clean up this house! I've been away a week and everything feels like chaos. Susan

Have you guys ever heard "The Co-Star"? It's my favorite spoken word piece by July, and it's creepy as hell. -cg

No I haven't! I have her albums (except for Margie Rushki Stops Time), and I have spoken word pieces she did for NPR's the Next Big Thing. And I have "chinese fruit", a bit she did which played in an elevator or something... But never heard The Co-Star. Any idea where I might find this?? While I'm listing off MJ stuff, I also own Joanie4Jackie4Ever, and seen all the short films except Nest of Tens The only thing missing in my life is seeing her Performace Pieces... which I NEED NEED NEED to see
