Hey, if Transformers can have their own thread... After getting back to Seattle (post TP Fest), I went to the Cinerama & saw The Simpsons Movie. Funniest animated film ever. Totally enjoyed seeing my favorite toon family on the BIG screen with a theater full of fellow fans. In fact, I went back for a second viewing last night. If you ever shared a love for Matt Groening's greatest creation, check it out this week. As to Maggie's "first word"/question, I say "YES"!!!

Wasn't Maggie's first word already covered on the show years ago? Elizabeth Taylor saying the word "Daddy", and getting pissed-off during the recording because Matt kept saying it sounded too "sexual". I guess this'll be the first time any of the characters hear her.
Anyway, I've heard good things and it's gotten mostly positive reviews, but none of the trailers have made me smile once. I guess I'll give it a rental anyway.

The movie was phenomonal. I never stopped laughing. Never! I really appreciated that they didn't go over the top and have Bart saying the "F" word just because it was a movie. It was absolutely perfect! Maggie's first word doesn't count if it's a Halloween episode btw.

Simpsons Nerd Posturing Alert! Oh no, not the James Earl Jones-voiced "This is indeed a disturbing universe," but the Elizabeth Taylor-voiced "Daddy" from a regular episode. See, I'm nerd enough to maybe enjoy the movie.

Well, it's Maggie's first word that the family actually hears. AND it's during the credits, which has jokes all the way to the end, so stay. (Or watch the whole DVD, if you're afraid of being in a theater full of happy laughing people)

WHAT?! It was completely shit! The first half hour was decent enough but then it just turned into the sentimental crap the show has been churning out for the last 5 seasons!

Is the between a rock and a hard place "joke" in the movie, or was that gem saved for the trailer?
