I learned about a party Saturday night two hours before it started. I looked in my closet for a second, grabbed my bathrobe and a towel, and went as Arthur Dent.

When people at the party asked me who I was, I said, "Oh, I'm not in costume. I just want to use your shower?"

You don't know who I am? Anti-dentite.

I had the ambitious notion that I would dress up as Professor McGonagall this year. Har. Yeah, you can't buy her robes anywhere without spending upwards of $200 (for properly-made robes...the cheaper ones are all crap and look wrong) so I procured instructions from some Harry Potter cosplay site and fully intended to sew my own robes.

Yeah. Didn't happen. Research paper, three midterms, chem paper, fest site prep, work, yadda yadda. So that will be next year's costume. Now here I am, day before Halloween, no idea what to wear. I've been listening to insane amounts of early-80's Depeche Mode lately (makes for excellent studying) so I'll probably slap together a "Frankie Says Relax" shirt tonight and go dressed up in some sort of 80's getup tomorrow. If not, there's always my minimalist fallback. Cat ears.

Much carving of pumpkins and roasting of seeds will transpire tonight, as well as the baking of adorable cupcakes. And I'm currently running on less than three hours of sleep. So this should make for some very interesting results.

A co-worker and I are going as the Spartan Cheerleaders from SNL. Pictures tomorrow. Simple and to the point.

I ended up having NO time to put together a costume last night, so here I am at work, wearing my "bee costume"...headband antennae and a pin-on stinger.

I've found the one MAJOR downside to it already. People keep saying "OOH! Bee Movie! Great costume idea!" Grrrr.

In our Halloween show I played a guy who literally breaks his foot off in his friend's ass (on alternate nights I played him as a Mexican, a hillbilly & Fred Sanford) & a dictator, that was basically Bush (with cowboy hat, cammos, boots & machete). It was a blast. Tonight I'm going to a free preview of No Country for Old Men. No partying for this boy...

Yes. We're totally on the same page. :) In fact, ONE normal coworker asked me if I was going to do the dance for everyone in the hallway. I hit him in the back of the head with a snack-size Almond Joy as he fled my office.
