I love John Wayne, my favorite movie is The Quiet Man. do you like John Wayne films? which one? AMC Channel has a John Wayne Movie Marathon Goin On right now.

I like the one where he plays the creepy clown that kills the young boys, then stashes their bodies under his house. Oh, wait a minute... you mean the one time Marion Michael Morrison? I could never take his wooden acting & macho posturing seriously (not to mention the socio-political aspects). I did see The Searchers in film class, but that's John Ford (& also where Buddy Holly got the inspirational "That'll be the day" line). Are we talking about watching his oeuvre with an informed sense of irony? ( Didn't he do a godawful take on Genghis Khan? Is that one of the films?) I think someone should do a movie about his Dukeyness getting cancer after filming in Los Alamos, "kicking cancer's ass" (we regular folk call it "remission"), then having it come back & kill him anyway... all the while never mentioning the fact that it MAY have been caused by nuclear fallout, bringing the proper attention to it & maybe saving the lives/health of it's residents. But that's much less important than calling the integrity of his government's actions into question. Bet Bush is a big Duke man. You're on your own on this one, Rebs...
