Just picked up a copy of Scene of the Crime, the latest hot disc by soul legend Bettye Lavette, backed by some Muscle Shoals vets & the Drive By Truckers (think a grittier Tina Turner singing in front of The Stones). Was pleased to see that John Neff was pickin' on it. Actually, it's a younger J.N., based in Athens, GA. Aren't you supposed to come up with at least a slightly different name, to avoid this confusion? By the by, Neff coming up & talking to me was one of my highlights of this past fest. Hey, Johnny!
