At the end of next week, I begin a long-delayed, badly-needed vacation.  I'll be taking a month off from work, and spending ten days or so out west: mostly in Victoria, but I'll be jumping over to Vancouver once or twice to check things out, and to do a little reconnaissance work for a potential future move.

I don't know yet what specific days I'll be in each city, though overall it'll be between the 15th or 16th and the 27th of October.  If anyone is up for coffee or drinks or food or mild tour-guiding of their area, put up your hand and say Yar...

I really thought 2006 would be my year for the Fest, and then things went sideways...

Next summer my high school is having a multi-year reunion -- small town, you see -- and I'm trying to make that work. Since it's in early August, and since a newly-refound (thanks, Facebook!) friend from those days is going as well, and since he lives in Victoria, it makes the idea of mashing the two events together both feasible and appealing. But I'm not going to open my trap about that too much until I have a better sense of what's really possible.

I am definitely in the area, and would likely be up for coming up to Vancouver on a weekend night.  Though I find Vancouver insanely expensive, it is fun to hit the big city sometimes.
