Not one with the best of luck with cars, I went to leave the house today, looking at the Geico magazine I got in the mail, I glance at a story about car thieves & how Honda Preludes are high on their lists of Must Steals... and I notice that MY Prelude, that I parked right in front of my house---IS GONE!!!  I got no alarm, club, & basic insurance, so I just hope it's recovered soon. Had to get a rental (my dime). Had my Corolla swiped on July 4, 1999, while my son & I were watching a movie. It was abandoned after it ran out of gas. Anyone with amusing anecdotes to cheer me up?

Only had one CD in the car, in the player, brand new, DIDN'T remove the plate--- a gift from my ex-girlfriend. What are the chances I'll recover that?  Next time, TAKE the CCR cassette, the rug, the marmot, whatever!!! NOT in a good mood now. Maybe I need a drink...

I'd like to punch the person who took my damn car & MAKE their chin do that, uncontrollably for the rest of their miserable existence...

Don't be too down, Chris.  I'm sure the Seattle PD has a team of detectives working on your case as we speak.  It's probably just a matter of time before they find... uh...  the remains.

Your insurance won't cover any portion of a replacement?

Can't believe Seattle is so rife with auto thieves that you'd be hit twice!

I can't offer too much in the way of commisseration either, though in the spirit of once having spent a night at the Holiday Inn (hahaha, as if...), I did once hit the wrong elevator button beneath the Twin Towers in Century City landing on the wrong level of the garage.  I couldn't find my car and was pretty convinced it had been stolen.  I may have actually approached the security guard before realizing I was one floor up.  It was tough.

Sigh.  Why do bad things happen to good people and versa vice?

I have a 20 year old Prelude & basic liabilty insurance, so I'm screwed. I've had pretty bad luck with cars & women (Maybe I'm the anti-Beach Boy).  As far as the" bad to good" thing, maybe I'm just NOT a good person. I am a survivor. I've had close to a half dozen near death experiences.  I always get by. What doesn't kill me--- OH, PLEASE GIVE MY CAR BACK!!!!

A bit worse for wear (broken trunk, stripped stickers: bumper & window, & a few items stolen), but I recovered my baby last night! Several hundred down in impound & rental car fees, but I got my sweet baby Batmobile again!!! Thanks to everyone who cared. To the rest, I hope YOU never have your vehicle(s) thefted....

Thanks, Lindleys. My dealer TOLD me to get a club when I bought it... How effective are they in stopping a real thief? After having 2 cars stolen haven't I exceeded my limit?    Did you hear that they're screening Flappy this Sunday night? And you're both invited to our Halloween show, on the 19,20,26, & 27 at 8, 4th floor of the Seattle Center House. Spooky... and a lotta funny too....
