That two deranged, bullsh*tters (ADULTS!!!) could find one another on the internet like that makes me really lose faith in the internet/humanity.

I know fantasy is a big part of online interaction, especially for lonely, unhappy people, but to involve your teenage daughter's identity (her) and kill a coworker in a jealous rage over an IM interaction (him) shows just how lost and empty some peoples' lives must be.

How about the one about the mother who got involved in her 13 year old daughter's drama by creating a fake profile to spy on her daughter's enemy, who killed herself over it?

the news story: http://www6.comcast.net/news/articles/technology/2007/11/17/Internet.Suicide/

the mother's confessional blog: http://meganhaditcoming.blogspot.com/

This illustrates 110% why it takes me SOoo much to trust anyone on the net. I have very few friends on it and they know who they are.

As far as these two cases go:  (*This probably will contain language too*. lol.)

1) I read that whole thing including the text conversations the sick bastard sent to the *17 year old* or her mother. Regardless of which one it was, he THOUGHT she was 17 years old, which makes her a minor and how the hell he got away with it for so long is beyond me. I felt so pissed off reading that. To accuse HER of lying -if she was the 17 year old, not the mother, but meaning he thought she was, (sorry I get a tad confused reading about the Jessi/Mary part of the thing and who was who at which point). when she is too terrified of him to tell him the truth because he threatens-no wait *promises* to kill everyone else she ever speaks to the bloke needs SERIOUS help, is not only a murderer but also is CLEARLY a paedophille.

Regardless of whether she was 17 or not behind the screen, the fact is,he THOUGHT she was, knew about this when he started this sick affair and did NOTHING to be responsible and end it when she disclosed it.  How would he feel if it was his daughters?

hang on ill be back i need something to eat before I die of starvation lol.

Ok back I will just add to this post rather than make a new one.  The mother Mary, is just as sick for involving her daughter's identity.  How can any responsible mother (again which she obviously isn't)

A: Even ALLOW themselves to be directed to a TEENAGE room without pointing the mistake out: these kind of places are specifically FOR teenagers to be/feel safe and protected from vulnerability/sickos like the one above, adults etc.  She is going on there pretending to be 17, it makes her just as bad, if not worse because of the HUGE danger she is placing her daughter in by allowing this account to continue and her daughters life to even be in danger of the constant threats from him, all the while using her account knowingly so if anyone does come to "get her" it will be her daughter they come after and not her, which they do/try to do before it all falls apart for her.  Can you imagine having a freak like that for a mother?! I don't care how lonely she is, there is NEVER an excuse for placing a child in danger like that.

As for the other guy, Brian, who was a friend to them both, it seems to me he really was the only innocent in all this.  He made two friends on the internet, valued and trusted them both, both of them turn out to be completely sick lying sociopaths who betray his trust and con him, he just wanted someplace to chat and have fun and in return he gets to die. Poor guy.

SERIOUSLY fucked up.

I don't really get why grown adults with families would want to pretend to be older than they are. Is there anything to be proud about being a teenage bimbo? Surely it would make more sense for a young person to pretend they're an adult.

Damn Internet...

(sigh) I try to not take the internet any more seriously than my television set.
