I don't know if anyone has posted on this BECAUSE THERE'S NO SEARCH FUNCTION. I wonder if the design of the baby in ERASERHEAD was inspired by Francis Bacon( Lynch's fave painter). Consider these pics...

The "man made" chickens were a mirror of the baby. That's why when he carved them, and they were still alive, it upset Mary and her mother. I guess. The planet with the hole was also a mirror of the baby (or was the baby a reflection of the planet?) it's mouth the same shape. But you knew all this.
