The Legend of Zelda:Twilight Princess Sword fighting like a sword fight instead of pushing a button on a controller is fun. Great story, different landscapes, battling everything from orcs to dragons and giant spiders, beautiful music, the whole package is great escapism. The only downside is when you play it for about 30-40 hours like I have and get stuck at a point where it's difficult and annoying!! Wii Sports: The game everyone has. This game sells the wii by itself - most people I know who've played it, within 15 minutes want to buy one. No wonder they've sold out everywhere last Christmas and this Christmas despite record supply of the consoles! The training and fitness sections are my favourites. Kororinpa: A very simple game of mazes and coordination. A very cute game with cute scenery, music and marbles - and one that all ages can play in. The only problem is after a few hours you can finish the game. Excite truck Of all the driving games on the wii, this is my favourite so far. The appeal is you can do incredible things that you can't in a real car/truck. The best section is the hunt section where you have to hunt down a number of other vehicles across rough terrain, and basically subdue them. Better with a wii steering wheel. Godfather: Blackhand Edition If you love the Godfather movies like I did, then you'll love this game. Follows the storyline, characters, music etc of the movie, except a character you create is right in the action. Learn to live as a mobster and keep Don Corleone happy. Similar in some ways to Scarface for the wii, but much better. Star Wars Lego: The Complete Saga I must admit this game sounded lame from the name, but it's bloody brilliant. Imagine a game with 600+ scenes from star wars...where you can play all the main scenes from all the movies. From visiting luke's home on tatooine, to fighting clones, to sword fighting a sith, and so on. The depth of the game is really impressive.

My favorites so far are Super Mario Galaxy, Warioware: Smooth Moves and Resident Evil 4. I've beaten RE4 a zillion times on the Game Cube, but it's a whole new experience on the Wii. -Req

I've been playing it on PS2 for several weeks now, and I was just thinking last night: "Wow, a Wii port of this would be amazing." I still don't have a Wii, though.

We broke down and bought a Wii a couple of weeks ago for 1 reason - GUITAR HERO. And that's all we've played so far. The only other games we have is Wii Sports and Wii Play (?) which I found generally lame. Been thinking about getting the Star Wars Lego game (heard lots of good things about it).

I must be the only human being on the planet who doesn't enjoy Guitar Hero. Then again, I actually play guitar, so maybe that's the key. Kind of loses the lustre once it's in easy-to-consume video game format. :) Probably the same way dancers feel about DDR... I don't think I've played anything on Wii yet that's knocked me out of my seat completely. I really only bought the system for Twilight Princess anyway because I accidentally preordered the Wii version and not the 'Cube version when it dropped. :) Oh well. Anyway, SM Galaxy was excellent. Big up to Wario Ware (Req, it's SO on. I'm taking you down!). And that's about it for me so far. I don't have time to play video games, and I'm not really a console fan anymore anyway (as evidenced by the plethora of abandoned game systems in my living room...). The biggest attraction the Wii has had for me so far is the downloadable games. I am more than happy to sink my Wii points into some Nintendo classics. (and once I figure out how, I can move those games to my MAME cabinet...weeeeee!)

I've actually never played Guitar Hero. It looks like it might be fun. It reminds me of Dance, Dance, Revolution only it's for the lazier set that doesn;t feel like jumping around or get winded too easily. It's my kind of game. Honestly, RE4 is much easier on the Wii. To get a lock on your target and your reaction time is far greater than it is on other consoles. It's still as intense as ever. I still think Super Mario Galaxy is possibly one of the greatest games I have ever played. Keep in mind, the last console I had was a Game Cube and before that was an original Plkaystation. I am far more old school. But SM Galaxy knocked my socks off. Maybe I am easily pleased. Manda, it's funny that you bring up the Wii points and downloading the classics, because I spend more time playing Punch-Out and Super Mario Bros.2 than I do playing nay other game on Wii. It's a blast playing the classics again. It's cool to see how far gaming has come in such a short period. As far as Wii sports and Wii Play...I actually really enjoy both. They are a hoot when you turn them into Strip Wii competitions with all your friends. Unless you have checkens in your group that get down to their skiveys and then won't go all the way once they've lost. But I digress... I enjoy the Wii tremendously, but rarely have the time to play it anymore. But it really is a great party console if you have a group of friends over and the suds are flowing. The Wii. I like it a lot. -Req

Wii is excellent for parties. :) I really liked playing Wii Sports when I first got the console. Mostly bowling though. :) I have to say, of the "big three" consoles out now, the Wii is probably the one I reach for the most if/when I do play console games. If I had to rank them in order of what I think they each bring to the table, I would say 1. Wii, 2. XBOX 360, 3. PS3 I know...PS3 has BluRay. And that's about all it's good for. The damn platform has been out for how long? And they still have a crappy offering of games as far as I'm concerned. The only thing it gets used for around here is...well...BluRay (and rarely at that. I have held off buying anything on BluRay or HD because I want to see which comes out on top rather than waste money; the only BluRay coming into the house is borrowed) Anyway. Req, I don't think you're wrong in your assessment of SMG. It is a well-designed game, with the gameplay remaining very engaging after all these years of the Mario franchise. It's ranked highly by pretty much everyone in the gaming industry. :)

I have Mario and Sonic Olympics, which isn't much good, and Wii Brain Academy is decent. Zelda: Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3 and Super Mario Galaxy are really good games. I want to get Guitar Hero but it's double or triple the price of some Wii games and I'm not sure if it'll get boring after a while.

I have guiter hero 3, but I'm waiting for a replica version of the guitar to go on sale. Even without the guitar, the game looks brilliant. Recent additions were Donkey Kong Air Race, Crossbow Training and Geometry Galaxies. GG has some really high ratings from around the place, but after 30 minutes playing it, I'm incredibly underwhelmed. Have to agree on Super Mario Galaxy - a great game for sure. The wii really impresses me as a party game console - sure it's ok playing yourself, but much better when friends are over.

I got Super Smash Bros. Brawl recently. It's really good, both single-player and multiplayer. Only complaint would be that the online multiplayer is a bit slow.
