I feel like I have come out of a very loooong winter.  But I feel like I am now in Spring and this year is going to be a Spring/Summer year for me.

That's a good time for baseball.  All eating an expensive hotdog and watching a double-header. W00t.

I feel like I'm in a pretty good spring at the moment. Not sure when summer will roll through but I'm enjoying this season while I can. It's nice to have that fresh, green, new feeling all the time.  And I'm being completely serious!

Feelin' kinda springy (it helps having a mild winter). Looks like I'll be starting a new job near month's end--- I'm goin' postal! Yes, deliverin' the mail.  And, tomorrow night I have a date with an actual woman! (A feat I didn't manage last year) 2008 is okay, so far...

Oh my gosh, hun, that is so great! :D *BIG HUG* So glad to hear that! I still have a package to mail to you. This coming week hopefully. Send you an e-mail on that later. :) But I just had to pause and give you the gratz. :D (On the job, that is. You always have a way with the ladies. :)

I asked my coworker yesterday what season he thought he was in and he said "One. Long. Dark. Winter. With snow." Hm. Either he was having a bad day or perhaps he needs a little therapy? :)

When I saw this thread I thought for sure it was going to be about astrology.

In The Secret Language of Relationships, the author discusses (based on astrology) how your birth season dictates when you'll have the most productive season of your life and your personality type.

For example, Aries, Taurus and Gemini (Mar 21- June 21) stand for birth to age 21 and need to be free, to develop, expand and leave their mark on the world, and tend to have spontaneous, innocent (childlike) qualities their whole lives.

The Summer signs represent age 21-42, Fall signs, 42-63, and Winter signs, 63-84.

I guess that puts me in the Summer phase of life; the growth, flowering and producing of nature in the Summer; Objective growth, subjective orientation.

Anticipating the parcel. Just need the piss test & physical before they let me dole out the social security checks.  As for the "way with the ladies", have you ever seen me with one? Perhaps you could inform my overworked hand & DVD player. Sorry for the cynicism, but TRULY, I had not date one in 2007. I have several long distance online ladyfriends, but I'm afraid that doesn't keep me warm at night. My lady luck doesn't hold out for long (ask my slew of ex-wives & mothers of my children), but I always keep tryin'. This is an actual real live Seattle-based female, & I think it should be a nice evening.

Chris if you pass the urine test, and actually hit the road with your mailbag, I'd like to offer you advice from Felix, my beloved mailman. He actually DOES always ring twice and when I ask through the intercom, "Who's there?" he always answers, "Me."

But that's not the advice. Felix carries a tupperware container of dog biscuits. All the neighborhood dogs recognize the sound of his vehicle and get happy-excited as he nears their respective houses. The only bites inflicted on Felix have been from overly enthusiastic pooches grabbing too fast. So the second part of the advice, is keep your hand flat.

The US Postal Authorities keep a very close watch on their mail carriers these days now however. You need to scan the interior of each box which notes the time of your arrival. Should you want to hang out a little longer chatting with the ladies, they'll notice the extended time period.

Will you be walking or driving?

Felix wears shorts all year round.

I give him $60 every Christmas and so do most of our neighbors. He is beloved in these parts.

Susan

PS Forgot the season question!  That alone might be some indication of where I stand.  But it doesn't.  I used to be a summer girl but left that when I moved to a hot climate.  Now I love love love fall.  And winter, too, however brief.  Bring on the rain, the cold and light the fire. Spring is nice too but it's just too short.  Summer summer summer all the time starts to feel like South Beach or Bay Watch.

It's kind of hard getting use to Spring. It is like I don't trust that it is really Spring, finally! Anyway, since we are also talking about astrology on this thread here is a slight breakdown of my sign: I would do some of your signs, but I don't know anyone's. Here is a short version of mine.

Aquarius

Risk Taker, person of strong conviction and commitments, originality etc...

Negative Side - rigid, pride, superiority, self centeredness, rebel, lone ranger...

This is for some of you who may be Aquarius like me:

You are unique and will not fit the mold of the masses. You are a trail blazer and you will go where others are afraid to go. You have a free flowing energy inside of you. You are like water to those who are thirsty. You are a noble person and you are a giver and you enjoy sharing with others. You are constantly pouring out. You don't like limitations. You are a free thinker. You stand out. When you are unbalanced it can lead to depression, being misunderstood, loneliness, sexual perverse, and kinky. When you are balanced you seem to have a postive energy about you that seems to refresh others and lifts them up. You are sharp and have a keen awareness about you. You can be unstable as water and give into addictions or the water you carry can be used to be a refreshing drink for others. You are a builder and not a destroyer, if you feel like you are becoming unbalanced take you eyes off of you and remember who you are.

More Specific: Jan 20 - 29

The southern fish - You seek knowledge, wisdom and enlightenment. You are a free spirit and have speaking abilities. It is like there is a light inside of you waiting to come out as you speak it brings light to others. Do not allow your taste for the finer things in life detour you from the light that you have. You will become whole. All that seems to be lacking will suddenly come forth. As you become more balanced. You will multiply in many areas.

Birth Date Jan 30 - Feb 8

There is life and death in your mouth. You must speak of new beginnings for the new beginnings to come. You will/are changing your perception to adjust what is deep within you. You will not forever be overwhelmed by life challenges. Proper choices will give you the ability to let go of the past and bring an end to it. Look deep within and close the doors to anger, bitterness and unforgiveness and open the door to new beginnings.

Birth Date Feb 9 - 18

As you learn who you are, healing will come. You have a complex soul, but your must realize the light you carry within in order for healing to come. You seem to focus on lack, but as you take the focus off of you the doors will open, as this happens oneness will come which is what you seek. You will be in order and proper balance. You have a since of purity and innocence that flows out of you and that others see and are refreshed by it. As the doors open you will find that you are no longer unstable but are a natural leader. You will spiral upward and will propel into new experiences. Sometimes it seems like you are in a circle like you are arriving at the same place over and over again, but each time a little different. As this happens you will find that each time you become more free and are able to tap into the water that you carry. Release the purity within you. It will remain the same throughout your path and it is what makes you strong and what others see. Forget the past and look ahead.

Well, that is just a short version of those of you who may be Aquarius

What the hellraiser are you all on about?

Is this thread written by Lynch?

I've begun to fear my own pillows.

Well,  the urine test was a breeze. I stayed up the night before chugging piss AND vinegar & figured I could handle anything they'd throw at me! THEN all I had to do was pee in a cup!!! (Last time I listen to my friend Sam!!)  I got sworn in yesterday (with the same oath as the military & president takes, to "defend the Constitution".  Whatever happened to the old "rain, sleet & snow" creed?!). I start on Feb. 4. My last day with the company I've been with for nearly 25 years is Feb. 1 (my son's 26th birthday. I was 26 when I started at Host).     Thanks for the biscuit tip, Susie! Dunno 'bout the shorts. I really don't like cold weather. Luckily, it's not that cold right now. I'll be on a walking route (likely), but will be driving to get there. Yea for me!!!

Rock on osf.  Out of the many, many jobs I've had, being a postman was right up there at the top of 'em.  Walking routes are very enjoyable (however close you feel to death, carry on through the first two weeks - then you're through the pain/fatigue barrier).
