I've only been able to answer 41 of them. 9 to go and I'm totally f'ing stumped. EVIL.

And the ones that are left...I thought I was being all clever and I'd put in the name of some totally awesome obscure horror flick, only to find out I was wrong and then I'd get all grumpy. :P

I too stopped at 41. The ones I had left were:
1. The hole in the wall.
2. The nun with the barrel of water.
3. Three kids dancing.
4. People with map.
5. People with zeros(?).
6. The knife.
7. Two guys on stairs.
8. The grim reaper.
9. Woman with two kids.

When you say knife, if you mean the huge knife on the ground, it's a film with Wesley Snipes. I tried to overthink it before I put that answer in...

EDIT:  As for the Nun with the barrel, she has nothing to do with the answer, frankly.  It's all about the contents.

My theory by A. Elk, brackets, Miss, brackets. This theory goes as follows and begins now. All brontosauruses are thin at one end, much much thicker in the middle, and then thin again at the far end. That is my theory, it is mine, and it belongs to me, and I own it, and what it is, too.

You gotta think like a British youth.

I'm nowhere near that, even. My mother and I tried solving this together a couple years ago. But horror is not our genre.

EDIT: And things like #7 can be hard to let go.

Booth, don't worry, it took me ages to get that...and the one with the three kids took me ages too...think the film had a doll in it...dungarees. I say I think because I don't watch "horror" films per se!

EDIT - The people with the map...think about their sex and why they might be looking at a map...

EDIT AGAIN - The blokes with the 'O's...I can't believe I didn't get that one...duuuurh...

Some of these clues are way too obscure for me, I'm afraid.
Solved the grim reaper one by myself. Yay.

If you are troubled by brainfarts on any of the others, I will help you.

Yes, embarrassingly obvious.

Ok.  The three children - don't think of it as dancing, but playing.

The blokes with the map - lads who need to find their way.

The hole in the wall?  The only thing that matters is the colour.

And the women with children?  Think of what it means if they're her kids.

Did anyone else notice that Jupiter and Saturn are about to meet, and very close to that pair of mountain tops?

Also, I suck with 31/50.

So for the first one: movie with Vin Diesel

And the next one: has been remade so many times now but I favour the version with Boris Karloff.

EDIT:  I have 47 out of 50, but can't get the one with the bird in the tree, or the one with Death, and I can't even find the other one...I suck...

Thanks, Booth!! Now I've just got the one I've completely overlooked to find...I'll let you know if I can't do it...

I can't believe I didn't get the other two...I kept getting stuck with The Raven for the bird, duuurh...

EDIT: I completely missed the bunch of lit pumpkins on the floor...got it! Alas, I left mine running so my time was well over an hour...not so great...

I found it to be the most irritating thing ever...especially considering quite a few of the movies I wouldn't even consider "dark" movies. Beetlejuice? Signs? The fucking Butterfly Effect? Oh come ON. And Twin Peaks was just plain stretching it.

Grrrr.

Remember that this is an M&M game, not one from Fangoria.

Yeah, well. The fact that they pulled Pumpkinhead out of their butt tells me that someone may have had a clue there at M&M/Mars. It was just the most bizarre mishmosh of films ever. And someone there was obviously an f'ing Shyamalan fan. Ugh.

I think that's the only reason I was able to find the majority of them, to be honest.  I'm such a pussy when it comes to proper horror films that if it had been based purely on what I would think of as "dark" films, I wouldn't have stood a chance...
