I caught the premiere of Quarterlife on NBC last night, and I gotta say I wasn't impressed. With anything about it. I never caught thritysomething, and can't attest to it's realism (since I'm not yet in my 30s.) Maybe you can't make a show accurately about the mid-twenties experience the way you can about the high school experience.
Anyone agree? Disagree? It's on again Sunday.

I found the show to be exceedingly dull. They managed to capture lightning in a bottle when they made My So-Called Life...they've failed to do so in other endeavors. (thirtysomething wasn't a bad show, but it wasn't exactly magic) I'm sure Quarterlife will just gain a legion of fans who thought it spoke so deeply to some inner 20-something in themselves. Good for them. I'm gonna go back to reading my books now.

Exactly. It came off like writer/director team, being in their late 50s, made a fantasy about 'what the kids are like these days' from browsing online profiles and stuck in a girl with Angela Chase-like mannerisms and a tendency to blubber.
