Remember that new television series from 1990 that had everyone talking.  It ran on Thursday nights and almost knocked Cheers out of the top rankings for a few weeks.  Some referred to it as a "prime-time soap."  It had Aaron Spelling's backing.

The CW is hoping to capitalize on nostalgia by updating 'Beverly Hills 90210.'

It's funny...this show was all the rage in my high school as soon as it came out. But I didn't watch that kind of stuff so I had no clue what it was and hadn't even heard of it. Until my own boyfriend started blowing off our nightly phone calls once a week because "90210 is on, babe!" Yeah, he wasn't worth a shit anyway.

My best friend in high school and I started watching it because it was excellent for making fun of. I remember laughing my ass off over the ep where Scott shot himself in season 2, not because accidental gun deaths are, as a rule, a huge larf. It was just the fact that they hyped it so much as being some big deal that someone would die, and then it ended up being the most inconsequential member of the group, and in the most ridiculous way. And the reactions of the other members of the group were awesome, considering none of them were really friends with him. :) It was fun.
