I have my TiVo recording it so I don't have to actively participate and can fwd through all the shitty parts later on. Which always brings it down to about a 15-minute show.

Hey now, Mike "The Love Guru" Myers is the host tonight...

... make that 12 minutes.

OK, while we're on the subject...is anyone else just absolutely embarrassed by the fact that The Love Guru actually got made? Every time I see the commercials, I want to just weep. Adam Sandler didn't help any when commercials for You Don't Mess With the Zohan started airing as well. Honestly. WTF? It's shit like this that makes the Sex and the City movie seem like a viable viewing option.

No, not that I have anything against it, but I have not watched the MTV movie awards since the 1990's.  I think it was when they were doing the Pulp Fiction clips.  I don't have MTV, so I can't watch it unless I go to a friend's house.

I think the Movie Awards are head and shoulders above the VMAs nowadays. MTV keeps trying to capture lightning in a bottle again by changing format and venues to freshen up the VMA's but the fact of the matter is that they as a network have changed to the point where music is so secondary (and even tertiary) to everything else they do, the VMA's will never be as awesome as they were back in the 80's and first half of the 90's. MTV should just continue making the Movie Awards the big fun event that it is (though it's not nearly as clever as it used to be) and sort of phase the VMA's into a smaller, less ridiculous event.

I used to love these shows when I was a kid seeing all of the celebrities.  Boy, has my taste changed since then.  They all walk out on stage and say a couple of unfunny lines and usually cuss (yeehaw! because that is sooooo cool!) to the unexplainable cheers of the fans.  Maybe I am not hip anymore or out of the loop, but I just don't get the appeal of these trashfests.  I turned it off after about 15 painful minutes last night.  We can't have FWWM Deleted Scenes, yet there are such future classics as Love Guru and Zohan being made.

I take that back - one cool thing was the Wayne's World skit.

Otherwise, I felt myself becoming dumber the longer I watched this sewage.

I think that's the one part I'm looking forward to seeing is the Wayne's World sketch. Everything else is very fwd-able. :)

QUOTE:The thing that is so deflating to me about the Deleted Scenes is this - why can't we have the Deleted Scenes to a movie that is a cult classic, yet on the DVD market out there you can purchase just about every Super Special Extended Edition of movies like Free Willy 3 or Kangaroo Jack? I just don't get it. Our society has ZERO taste.
Let it go.
