I am reading Little Children it's totally amazing, i could read it for hours on end (you know if I didnt have to work or do anything) It's also very funny, which I also though about the film (which I saw first) but other people told me it was disturbing, but hell I laughed. Then again I laugh at awkward situations because I can relate to them, it's real life, one blumder after another.

I just reread A Wrinkle in Time. Forgot how great that book was. Now rereading The Stand.

Can anyone recommend anything readable about the late 50's-late 70's in American politics, its a period thats always fascinated me, and would like to expand my knowledge of that time period??
 
 I'm not quite as book-learned as some of ya so Id appreciate your input

The Help by Kathryn Stockett - I hear its' massively popular in the U.S.  It's about black maids working for spoilt white trash in Missisipi in the 60's and I'm really enjoying it thus far.  Plus I wanted to read the book before I see the movie. :)
