International Lefthanders Day
It's been going on since 1976, but I hadn't heard about it until today, probably due to the right hand media.
So post here if you're left handed, and we'll share stories of societal oppression.

And another sinister conspiracy is born. Truth be known, though, I mouse left-handed at work, and right-handed at home, so I guess I'm at least a sympathizer.

I get the same damn thing. Makes me feel like I should be in a sideshow or something. "Step into the tent and witness the freak of nature! She writes LEFT-HANDED!" *gasps from crowd, women fainting* I'm the only leftie in our entire family...both sides. In fact, nobody on either side can remember the last time there was a southpaw in the family tree. So they do tend to treat me like a freak of nature. I've grown up around these people and they will still go "Ohhh, that's right. You're a leftie...huh." Psh. I mostly ignore Lefties Day since it doesn't change the fact that all the desks in school or all the appliances in the breakroom at work are for right-handers. Also doesn't change the fact that motherf'ing Mead discontinued their left-handed Five Star notebook earlier this year. Bastards. I used to subscribe to Left-Hander's Magazine, but the novelty wore off after a few years (this was back in the late 80's...I don't even know if the mag still exists). The best thing they had was the mail-order lefty items in the back. I used to order lefty pens and pencils a lot, since as a writer, I was always smearing everything...

I had the same issues when I was in school. That was a big problem. I would always have to pull up another desk on the left so I could properly write. There is a left handed online club that sends out a monthly letter and has mail order stuff. Lots of pretty cool things. I was going to get my best friend a left handed padfolio for Christmas then I got sacked so I can't spend the lofty amount of money on a nice one...
I have to say, LEFTIES RULE! I think that's why I am so cool.
